Different conversion technologies are used to produce e-fuels depending on the desired final product. These processes are largely the same as those that industry uses for equivalent carbon-intensive final products. However, new technologies are emerging that promise to lower costs and improve efficiencies, along with alternative routes, such as converting e-methanol into e-jet (e-kerosene). Want to learn more? At 10:00 CT on 7th July, gas day, Freeport powerline readings dropped to 0 mG, indicating all trains are offline. The facility has since showed no activity, with nominations still at zero and no feedgas entering the facility. Freeport LNG announced on Sunday that it had reduced production at its liquefaction facility and plans to resume operations once it is safe after the weather event. Liquefaction trains 1, 2, and 3, along with a pre-treatment facility, were proactively shut down due to the storm. Several other facilities, including West Clear Lake and Dayton natural gas storage facilities, have pre-emptively shut down their operations. On Sunday, the Coast Guard set the condition "Zulu", restricting all vessel movement and cargo operations due to gale-force winds. Deliveries to power plants in Texas have also seen a drop in nominations by approximately 100,000 MMBtu over the weekend from 6th July to 8th July 2024. Stay up to date with the effects of this event and similar ones on the US LNG supply chain, and access insights into production status with our North American LNG Service that monitors facilities in real time utilising infrared technology. 🌟 Key Highlights from the Latest Report on Japan's Power Markets 🌟 🔍 Price Forecasts: Our latest analysis reveals slight fluctuations in average DA-24 prices, with a steady projected increase nationwide through June and July. This upward trend is driven by increasing summer load, supported by stable fuel prices, and a lack of fluctuation in generation supply. 📈 For those interested in more profound insights and granular details, we invite you to contact us directly. 🌐 LNG and Coal Dynamics: LNG inventory is currently 14% below the 5-year average. Despite this, utilities are confident about having ample supply to meet peak demand periods. They are increasingly favouring coal over gas due to more favourable economic spreads. This shift could have significant implications for cost and supply stability moving forward. ⚖️ 🌡️ Temperature Effects: Rising temperatures, particularly in Tokyo and Kansai, have exceeded 30 °C, leading to a substantial increase in power demand due to heightened cooling-related energy consumption. This seasonal demand surge is critical to monitor as it impacts both short-term pricing and long-term strategic planning. 🌞 💡 Strategic Insights: Market Behavior: Our forward-looking analysis shows that forward prices are stronger year-on-year, reflecting robust market conditions expected to persist through the end of 2024. This trend highlights a healthy market environment and potential opportunities for strategic positioning. Generation Capacity: Japan's total generation availability is set to increase by 10%, reaching 153 GW by early July. This significant boost in capacity ensures a stable supply, mitigating potential risks associated with peak summer demand. 🚀 📢 Engage with Us: We are eager to hear your thoughts on how these emerging trends will influence your business strategies. 💬 Connect with our team of experts for tailored insights that address your specific energy needs. Let's explore potential collaborative opportunities to navigate these dynamic market conditions together. 🌐 #EnergyMarket #JapanPowerMarket #LNG #Coal #EnergyInsights #Summer2024 Adam Hagge 🔗 Connect with us for more comprehensive insights and opportunities! 💡

Last month, our offices in Gurugram, Hyderabad and Mumbai celebrated Joy of Giving week. The Joy of Giving week was dedicated to spreading kindness and generosity, through acts of giving and contributing towards the welfare of those in need. This year, we focused on sustainability and charity through a ‘Recycling Donation Drive.’ We encouraged donations of various pre-loved and unused items that could be recycled or repurposed. Wood Mackenzie partnered with GOONJ, an NGO focused on addressing basic needs and promoting equity for underprivileged communities in India. To raise awareness, the GOONJ team conducted a virtual session highlighting how these donations would benefit underprivileged communities. They also provided a list of preferred items for donation. A massive thanks to everyone in our India offices who contributed to this fantastic cause! #ThrivingatWoodMac

On 22nd June, a team of WoodMackers took part in the Edinburgh Pride march to show support for inclusion, diversity and individuality for all employees, customers and communities. As well as taking part, we were proud to sponsor the Pride march again this year. Visible support of the LGBTQ+ community is important for our colleagues today but also for those who might consider joining WoodMac in the future. At Wood Mackenzie, we specialise in data and are thrilled to see the numbers at Edinburgh Pride growing year on year. In 2023, the march attracted over 1,000 new attendees, bringing the total to 14,000. This growth is a great reflection of the vibrant and inclusive community we support. #ThrivingatWoodMac #Pride2024
