We’re excited to announce our partnership with ShipEngine, a leading shipping API. Why does this matter? - Addressing in-accuracy is a huge pain point for businesses and customers when it comes to deliveries - By adding what3words location tech in to its platform ShipEngine are making it possible for a what3words address to be passed from the online retailer to the shipping partner seamlessly - Increasing the ability for online retailers to provide accurate, consistent and efficient deliveries - And, elevating the delivery experience for customers How does it work? - Online retailers can ask for their customers’ what3words address at checkout or when collecting address information. - ShipEngine Connect’s API can then pass this what3words address on to the shipping partners systems, including DHL eCommerce. - Meaning the delivery will arrive exactly where it’s needed. #deliveries #news

Martin lives in Merseyside with his wife Samantha and 2 kids. He was born blind and navigates life with his cane, guide dog, Diesel, and accessibility tools. One cold, sleety night in December 2023, Martin and his dad faced a terrifying ordeal. Driving cautiously on icy roads, their car slipped, rolled multiple times, and landed in water. Both were knocked out on impact. When Martin Ralfe 👨🏻🦯 🦮 📱 regained consciousness, he realised their precarious situation. With the passenger side submerged, he quickly called for help and used what3words. Sharing their precise location, ///verge.hubcaps.yoga, the dispatcher sent help within 15 minutes. "Without what3words, we might not have been found," Martin said. Now, he passionately advocates for what3words, adding it to his email signature and encouraging everyone to download the app. This life-saving tool proved its worth that night, and Martin wants others to know it could save their lives too. #KnowExactlyWhere #Emergency #Rescue

As the UK Know Exactly Where week kicks off today, one of the most powerful ways to raise awareness is for people to tell the stories of how they used what3words in an emergency. This piece in The Mirror came out today and covers the incredible story of Ed and Sarah and how a hike in Switzerland took a turn. 'Aunt who fell 60ft down mountain has life saved by mobile phone app' "Ed Farnworth, 31, and his auntie, Sarah Robert, 59, were hiking in Switzerland when Sarah fell 60ft down a mountain and suffered serious injuries... Luckily, Ed, from Bolton, Lancashire, had the what3words app on his phone which provides users with a unique three-word code that reveals their precise location. After ringing the emergency services, who knew about what3words, the address crabmeat.hers.froze showed the services the exact spot where Sarah landed."
