The #ProtectZone started to take shape at the The South Wales Business Expo by Zokit earlier. Penarth Management Limited was the first business to set up; but SCG Together have since done the same. They will be joined in the morning by Crowdguard, Cybata and Forseti Training Ltd. All of our exhibitors have a featured talk and they will all be taking part in the Martyn’s Law Q&A panel at 2pm.

It was on reading the Public Inquiry from Manchester Arena (especially Volume 1), that Jodie Read realised that there were so many missed opportunities. Yesterday was a significant milestone for #MartynsLaw as it progressed through the Second Reading stage in the House of Commons. I was grateful to attend alongside Figen Murray OBE, Stuart Murray, and Brendan Cox, and a shame that Nick Aldworth MPA CSyP could not be there with us, but it was reassuring to hear there is cross-party support to get Martyn's Law on the statute books, hopefully before the 8th anniversary of the Manchester Arena terror attack, on 22 May 2025. Throughout the debate there were meaningful contributions from members on the implementation and enforcement, the categories and the sizes of venues, especially in the Standard Tier category, and the choice of the Security Industry Authority as the regulator. Frain OBE mentioned multiple times for the work he has been doing to support victims of terrorism. It has taken a long time to get to this place and it was great to hear recognition from members to Figen and the UK Home Office team who have worked tirelessly to get to this stage.
