The British Academy held a series of roundtables in conjunction with the National Civic Impact Accelerator to explore the role of universities in creating or maintaining social and cultural infrastructure. The findings determined that universities are well-placed to enhance social and cultural infrastructure to meet local needs through partnerships, research and development and innovation. However, long-term funding commitments are required in order to enable the contributions universities make to achieve their full potential.
