This year has flown past, we can hardly believe we’re writing our yearly summary again!
With the help of our incredible community, what we’ve achieved together this year is nothing short of remarkable and, if you’ve got a few minutes, we’d love to celebrate some highlights with you.
Let’s begin with 1 billion views! That’s right, earlier this year our little YouTube channel turned 13 and then soared through 1 billion total views… That’s more than 136 MILLION HOURS of Sorted Food content watched around the world over the last 13 years.
One major highlight of the year? It’s got to be working with The Earthshot Prize and His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales... Sitting around that fabled pub table nearly 15 years ago, none of us could ever have guessed we’d end up working with the Prince and highlighting the incredible work being done by his Earthshot Prize initiative. The fact we got to share that experience by inviting our community to meet the Prince too made it such a unique and fairytale-like experience.
On top of this, we also had the pleasure of working with California Walnut Board & Commission, Maldon Salt, Brand USA, Asda, Bloomberg Media, DREO, The Vlogfest and others. Some of these epic partnerships helped us travel to places like Croatia, Texas, California, the country of Georgia, and Singapore - using our community’s recommendations along the way to uncover so many unforgettable food experiences.
Many of those experiences inspired recipes that have been published on the Sidekick app… Which tens of thousands of our community are now using every single week to plan, shop and cook like a chef. In fact, over 1 million meals have been served up this year through Sidekick - but it’s not just the meals that are helping people, each person is saving up to £360 by buying less food and not wasting any of it! Delicious meals with a side of money saving and sustainability? Yes please!
It doesn’t stop there - we recently had our latest Live show, Snow Way Out, which was the follow up to our Wild Weekender in the Summer. These 2 day, live extravaganzas have become massive bookmarks in the Sorted calendar, requiring months of preparation and a full team effort to pull together! Thousands of people around the world joined us for cook-alongs, silly games and, of course, the utter carnage of Pass It On LIVE.
I think all that’s left for us to say is three massive thank yous… Firstly to the Sorted Food team, who constantly go above and beyond to bring our crazy ideas to life for your enjoyment and learning. Secondly to the partners we’ve worked with this year - hopefully it’s just the start of what we can do together. And thirdly, of course, to our community - for supporting everything we do, exploring the world of food with us and working together to form this unique, powerful community of food lovers.
We hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing Christmas and New Year… We’re already so excited for what’s to come in 2024!
