"Nudging towards a sustainable future, one shower at a time."
About us
At ShowerKap, we believe in harnessing technology for good. Our focus is on designing innovative solutions to address environmental and societal issues. The current status quo sees vast amounts of water, energy, and money being wasted due to habits, lack of awareness, and reluctance to change. This is where ShowerKap comes in with what we believe is a world-first smart shower system. Our patent pending solution empowers people to make better decisions about water and energy use - saving water, money, energy and reducing carbon emissions. Not only does our technology control the shower experience, our advanced monitoring and usage data collection enable us to provide tailored nudges and interactions that align with each user's unique decision-making patterns. And by gaining deeper insights into human behaviour and social interactions, we can create increasingly personalised nudges that drive sustainable change. We are dedicated to making a real difference in addressing water shortage and management problems. That's why we're eager to collaborate with water companies, universities, and grant funding organisations to pioneer a new approach When it comes to water, energy and carbon, we believe people just need a nudge in the right direction.

💧Water is ranked as one of top five global risks, with over 40% of the global population facing water scarcity and 25% confronted with "extremely high” water stress. Water scarcity and stress present significant challenges for communities and industries on every continent. 🍃 By implementing water-saving technologies and adopting sustainable showering practices at scale we can save water, increase resilience and support responsible businesses in every sector ➡️ https://showerkap.co.uk/ #BenjaminFranklin #WaterQuote #WaterScarcity #WaterTech

🌐 Tourism uses around 1% of global water. 🌐 This rises to over 7% in areas where tourism is the dominant industry. 🌐 In Spain, the average tourist consumes between 450 and 800 litres a day. This takes into account hotel bathroom use, leisure and restaurants. 🌐 By comparison, residents in Spain consume 127 litres. 🌐 This total use per guest can reach 2,000 litres per day in tropical destinations, and in hotel terms it can reach 3,423 litres per day and room, according to Global Water Forum via We Are Water Foundation. 💡The intersection of tourism and water doesn’t have to mean scarcity and overuse. Increasingly, hotels are implementing water saving measures, and guests are seeking out sustainable, lower impact destinations. We’re proud to be a part of this shift, one drop at a time. #Watertech #BehaviourChange #WaterUse #ClimateSolutions #SustainableTourism #UNWTO #ResponsibleTravel

💧🌍 Our head of Strategic Partnerships, Carly Hunt, will be joining thousands of others in World Water Week events from today. This extraordinary week recognises the importance of water for a ‘peaceful and sustainable’ future, and focuses on the resilience and interconnectedness of communities and nations when it comes to this precious resource. Carly, with others, will be exploring ways to ensure we preserve and protect our water with a range of collaboration and solutions. When it comes to what we do, we’re focusing on the millions of litres of water wasted in domestic and hospitality settings. Our pioneering solution combines behavioural science and engineering to measure and reduce water wastage, as well as reduce carbon emissions from heating water ➡️https://showerkap.co.uk/ https://lnkd.in/dtJ_UxC #WorldWaterWeek2024 #Watertech #ClimateSolutions #WaterScarcity

✈️♨️ August is when most people take their holidays, and millions of us will be heading to warmer spots in Europe for our vacations. But increasingly, travellers are having to change their plans, as the effects of climate change means some destinations are now uncomfortably warm, or just plain unsafe, in high summer. Soaring temperatures, fires and water shortages all mean real world impact and changes in behaviour for holiday tour operators, hotels and travellers themselves. 💭 So will extreme weather change when (and where) you go on holiday?
