This week, we are looking at the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™ . Spain clinched the trophy, while on the digital front, the host nations Australia and New Zealand welcomed the biggest growth. The Matildas' presence on Instagram and Facebook skyrocketed, achieving an astonishing growth of nearly 250% on Instagram alone! At the same time, the New Zealand Ferns had the third biggest growth with over 83%. Among all the remarkable athletes, Australian forward Mary Fowler stood out with an incredible growth rate of 458%, amassing an impressive 218k new followers on her Instagram throughout the tournament. Not just an exceptional goal-scorer, but Sam Kerr also claimed the title of gaining the highest number of followers. Her Instagram account gained an astounding half a million new followers during the tournament. Another week, another great women’s sports event! This time, our focus is directed towards the AIG Women's Open 🏌️♀️ Against the backdrop of Walton Heath in Surrey, UK, the week proved to be nothing short of exhilarating! The AIG Women's Open not only showcased exceptional performances on the field but also witnessed an impressive surge in its online presence. 🎉 Between July 1st and August 15th, the event saw a 15% increase in new followers on Instagram. 🎉 The on-field excellence was matched by Lilia Vu and Charley Hull's Instagram performance, which saw a combined follower growth of almost 40k - opening up women's golf to a brand new audience.
