  • According to Construction News, in 2021, 507 construction workers in the UK took their own lives - the equivalent to two workers every day. Within the construction industry, a stigma around mental health prevails and as a result, workers are four times more likely to commit suicide compared to other sectors. Though suicide is preventable through education and intervention, employers across the industry need to be doing more to come together to reduce the stigma around mental health. As well as being a prominent local employer of construction workers across Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire, we are also advocates for mental health. We actively support Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity, which is one of the only charities in the UK and Ireland committed to promoting for physical, emotional and financial wellbeing of the construction industry. Today is #WorldSuicidePreventionDay - a day organised by the Samaritans for raising awareness around suicide prevention. The campaign works with over 70 other suicide prevention and mental health groups under the National Suicide Prevention Alliance (NSPA) to break stigmas and promote conversation, and this is something we are supporting. We believe it’s important to talk and write about suicide safely and responsibly - particularly in construction. Using the right language around suicide is key to breaking down stigma. When we use our words carefully we can create a safe environment for people to open up.

  • Our work with UnityMK continues to gather momentum, as we push on with making great progress on the roofing works. The main office roof is now recovered to warranty standard and work is moving forward on the new timbers to the pair of pitched roofs. UnityMK is a local charity offering practical and emotional support for those experiencing homelessness or who are at crisis point and we are proud to be involved in the development. Take a look at the image below to see our progression. https://unitymk.org/ #Project #Construction #Charity

  • As the summer holidays draw to a close, and our sister company Neville Joinery prepares to welcome its latest apprentice Bench Joiner apprentices we thought we'd ask our current apprentices to reflect on their first year with us. Will, Apprentice Site Manager for Neville Special Projects, said: "The highlight of the last year has been getting to know people I am working with which has helped me come out of my shell. "I really enjoy watching our sites progress and how people work to get projects finished. My advice to our incoming apprentices would be to take every opportunity you get given! Be confident” Thanks for those kind words, Will! #apprenticeshipjobs #futureplans #apprenticeships #training #careers

  • We are now an approved supplier for Northamptonshire Police. Our Frameworks and Small Works division of Neville Special Projects, led by Mick Carpenter MCIOB, focuses on commercial and public sector works, and provides maintenance, refurbishment and new build services. Now, as part of our 'approved supplier' status, we can continue our partnership with the Northants Police, providing high-quality craftsmanship to improve services for the community. We're proud of the work we do for public services, having worked on a huge number of projects in the education and emergency services sector over the years. Looking forward to working on many more exciting projects in years to come. #Project #Construction #EmergencyServices

  • Although it didn't 'come home' officially during this year's Euros, our team across Neville Trust Ltd managed to raise a fantastic amount of money for one of our Charities of the Year, Autism Bedfordshire. Autism Bedfordshire is an independent charity dedicated to improving the lives of autistic people and their families across Bedfordshire and we are proud to be supporting its cause. So far this year, through initiatives like our Euros and Eurovision sweepstakes, we have raised a total of £434.38! Thank you to everyone who has participated this year. We look forward to continuing efforts here. #Charity #Euros #Sweepstake

We are pleased to say that we are Business Partners once again for our beloved Luton Town Football Club 👏 Luton Town FC was established in 1885 and was the first club in southern England to be fully professional. As a business that has been operating in Luton for nearly 150 years, we have been around since its conception. We have supported the club through every milestone - including its move to the iconic Kenilworth Road in 1905, its role during both World Wars, and more recently, its return to the Premier League for the 2022/23 season. As it kick-starts its latest campaign in the Championship, we're thrilled to be able to partner with it once more. Looking forward to the rest of the season. #ClubPartner #Hatters #LutonTownFC

  • Best of luck to the team taking part later on this week - here's hoping for great success, lots of fundraising, and better weather than the previous contest!

  • Neville Special Projects has recently completed works on a Memorial Garden project for Bedfordshire Police. This garden was created to be a place of reflection and remembrance, providing necessary space for the police, the bereaved and their families to come together to pay tribute, grieve, and find solace in their memories. To celebrate this new Memorial Garden, and to pay tribute to those being remembered, Bedfordshire Police organised an opening ceremony event – to which our team were invited. The ceremony was attended by members of the police force, sponsors and those from the wider community, and included speeches, readings and a beautiful performance by a local choir. The ceremony was a lovely way to open the garden as well as a moment of remembrance. As well as Neville Special Projects, our sister company Neville Funerals Memorial team have donated the plaque displayed in the garden, which will be shortly mounted on a memorial stone also donated by the Neville Memorials team. We look forward to seeing how to the garden changes and grows as well as how it is integrated into the everyday use of all members of staff at Bedfordshire Police. #Project #ClientWork #Memorial #Garden
