To finish the first week of COP 29, we're looking back a few years! 🌍 3 years ago, Kensa was honoured to be invited to COP 26, where our Shoebox was the only renewable heating technology featured! We also launched our augmented reality climate change experience, "Welcome to Green Street," which used immersive storytelling to portray a greener future in which communities make the switch to Networked Heat Pumps! Three years later, our Networked Heat Pump solution is going from strength to strength, helping to lift people out of fuel poverty while keeping them cosy in the winter and cool in the summer. With all the talk of energy and emissions at #COP29, we’ve been thinking about Kensa Heat Pumps, who we filmed with in August last year. Here are a few behind the scenes snapshots from the shoot in Cornwall. Kensa create ground source heat pumps that supply whole communities, reducing CO2 emissions and energy costs at the same time. Cornwall was one of Britain's early industrial hubs. Now, innovators like Kensa are reinventing this rich heritage, placing the county at the forefront of the next energy transition. This week at COP29, Prime Minister Kier Starmer announced an ambitious new climate goal – to reduce the UK's emissions by 81% by 2035 compared with 1990 levels. Businesses like Kensa will have a critical role to play as we work to reach this target. Thank you to the Kensa team Matthew Trewhella, Ieman Barmaki and Adam Brann for sharing your insights with RE:TV, and to on-location crew Barbara Santi and Becky Robinson for helping us bring the story to life. 🔗 Watch the full case study film here https://lnkd.in/ePeRuTDM Kensa Group

🔋 How do you decarbonise heating for nearly 300 social housing flats without disrupting people’s lives? This was our challenge for Thurrock Council: bringing sustainable heat to three 1960s tower blocks, each housing almost 100 flats. The solution? Replacing outdated electric night storage heaters with Kensa's innovative networked heat pump solution, powered by the Kensa Shoebox. 🌱 We're incredibly proud of this project, which has: ✅ Reduced carbon emissions ✅ Lowered energy bills for residents ✅ Created a scalable model for decarbonising similar buildings (yes, even ones thought unreachable by heat pumps!) In BusinessGreen, our Sustainability Director, Ieman Barmaki dives into the details of this life-changing green heating legacy in Thurrock. 🔗 Read the full Business Green story here https://bit.ly/3Z65tdC Looking to decarbonise your housing stock? Today, the Heat Pump Association (HPA) has launched a new report projecting the heat pump workforce needed to reach UK net zero targets. Today’s publication shows that whilst the industry is on track to train the future heat pump installation workforce, certainty and increased consumer demand are needed to support trained individuals to become active in the workforce. Covering not only heat pump installers, the report highlights the growth needed across the entire heat pump workforce. 🏠 New homes can deliver a greener, more affordable future, but to make this happen we need an introduction of the Future Homes Standard. Writing for Show House, Kensa CEO Tamsin Lishman highlights the important role housebuilders will play in switching to renewable heating. However, each new home that's fitted with a gas boiler only adds to an ever-increasing future retrofit bill. Kensa has partnered with GTC to bring renewable heating to new homes in a way that's cost-neutral for developers and homebuyers compared to gas, showing the future of heating is here and can be delivered now. 👉 Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/ebz-6VU3 🌍 Find out about Kensa's and GTC's green-heating solution for housebuilders: https://lnkd.in/enUBxvC5 #Housebuilding #NetZero #Renewables #Developers #HeatPumps
