IMG is proud to announce a groundbreaking milestone in sports broadcasting! The 2023 BMW PGA Championship will go down in history as the first-ever sporting event powered entirely by green hydrogen for TV production. Set at Wentworth Club, Surrey, from September 14-17, this marks a monumental leap in sustainable sports coverage. Partnering with GeoPura, we're deploying cutting-edge hydrogen generators, saving an impressive 16.4 tonnes of CO2 compared to the previous year, emitting only water vapour. Tournament golf buggies will also run on hydrogen-generated electricity, revolutionizing transportation at sports events. At IMG, we prioritise sustainability with the goal of establishing ourselves as one of the UK's greenest production facilities thanks to our #GreentoScreen initiative. Our studio facilities at Stockley Park are powered by 100% renewable energy, including four studios, nine live galleries, and over 45 edit suites powered by solar, wind, biogen, and water sources. These ventures not only set a new standard for eco-conscious broadcasting but also exemplifies European Tour Productions & IMG's dedication to innovation in media and sustainability. Stay tuned for more updates as we lead the way in a greener, cleaner future for sports production! Last week marked the end of our Summer Internship programme in London. From Production to Sports Management, Sales to Marketing – our interns have spent the past two months fully embedded within our teams across IMG MediaIMG ARENA, IMG Events, IMG Licensing, 160over90 and OpenBet.   As well as making a meaningful contribution to the business on a day to day basis, the interns had a broad range of extra programming to really get to know the Endeavor network. Highlights included Question Time with Endeavor President Mark Shapiro over at WME, behind the scenes tours of our production studios at Stockley Park and twice-weekly Speaker Series sessions with senior leadership to learn all about our business. The interns also delivered a fantastic fundraising event which featured a sports quiz, raffle and auction, raising over £3k for W4 Youth.   Well done to all of our 2023 Interns for your hard work and congratulations Joseph Allan for being awarded 2023 Intern of the Year. Joe has consistently performed at an outstanding level throughout his internship and we are delighted that he will be staying on at IMG beyond the summer.   Speaking of his time at the Internship, Joe said “Participating in the internship programme has been incredible, the opportunity to learn from industry experts in sports and media was truly special. Working on important projects for IMG while collaborating with fellow interns was such a rewarding experience and the skills I've gained during this time are invaluable. I'm very grateful for the lasting relationships I've established throughout this time”.   If you would like to apply for the 2024 cohort, look out for more information in the new year.

We are proud to welcome Charlotte Winter into IMG's Production and Studios business. She takes control of our live broadcasting workflows, from large-scale outside broadcasts to remote production via satellite and IP. Charlotte said "The broadcast world is changing so much. I love traditional OB's and being on site, but the changes that are coming using remote production, whether that be over IP or cloud, are so exciting. It means we can give different sports their perfect solution, and it helps us improve the diversity in our workforce, making live productions more accessible for everyone involved. At IMG I've already seen way more female engineers than in previous roles, which I love... the more you see those diverse faces in broadcast tech, the more it helps younger women realise they can do it too." Charlotte hit the ground running with our live coverage of the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™ for the BBC. Welcome to the team! #HerGameHerGlory - a Summer of Women's Sport #SportsBroadcasting #RemoteProdcution #Connectivity #WomenInTech #WomenInSport #WomensWorldCup #FIFAWomensWorldCup
