    Ready to take the stress out of another marketing decision? Let's talk: global or local? 🌍 Like most decisions you need to make in marketing, this one stems directly from your corporate strategy. The extent to which your corporate strategy is global or local will have a direct impact on how global or local your marketing activities will be. For example, if your company’s target audience includes multinational corporations, you’re likely going to have a skew towards global marketing practices. If you work with more local businesses, then the opposite is needed. Always start with your audience and go from there. An equally relevant factor in this decision is your brand. Do you have one global brand, local brands, or sub-brands? Again, the choice is obvious if you have local brands but one global brand doesn’t necessarily mean all your marketing efforts are global. In fact, the extent to which your marketing mix is global- or localised also depends on the channels and tactics you choose. For example, you might have a social media strategy which defines global objectives but it needs to be applied to local platforms such as WeChat in China. It’s logical that you’ll have to think this through for every brand channel you choose to use for marketing. If your channel is mostly global e.g. your events are always virtual, then your strategy might be mostly global. However, it’s likely to be nuanced by different time zones, languages and the cultural context of your content. Needless to say, this choice isn’t a simple one and in most cases your marketing strategy will be a mix of global and local. Before you become overwhelmed, break it down into even more choices and take them one at a time. And if in doubt, go back to the beginning of this post and re-read the pivotal point: always start with your audience. #b2bmarketing #marketingstrategy #globalmarketing

    Looking for inspiration for International Self-Care Day this Wednesday? Why not take a silent stroll? Silence is restorative. With nothing to listen to, and no sounds to disturb us, our bodies can rest and our brains can get to work building new neurons. As such, silence works in much the same way as meditation.* Whether walking alone or with someone else, silence is golden. And when it comes to resetting ourselves, we don't need to take a long or laborious hike. A two-minute, silent, phone-free walk in a quiet location may be sufficient.     To keep your marketing strategy stress-free, you need to make practical, tactical decisions. So let's talk about some of those decisions... A hot topic that's only going to get 🔥🔥🔥: artificial intelligence or human intelligence? This is such a topical ‘choice’ right now and you’ll no doubt be surrounded by marketing content advising why you need to embrace AI to keep your job…so, let’s de-stress the situation right now. There’s no doubt that AI, or more specifically generative AI, is infiltrating the lives of marketers more and more each day. Creative marketers will no doubt be reluctant to hand over responsibilities and tasks to technology, however, there is a win-win situation to be found and it starts with knowing your strengths. However creative you are, there’s a good chance that you’ll hit periods of low inspiration, boredom with your brand, or just plain old writer’s block. It’s these moments that AI can help get your juices flowing again. Let’s say you’ve poured your heart and soul into a blog post, but you can’t quite capture the headline. Or you’ve created a killer email, but you need some subject lines for A/B testing. You’ve done the hard work and with a little prompting, generative AI tools can help you reach the finish line. But even better than waiting until you reach this point before asking (politely) for help, if you know your weaknesses from the start, you can already outsource these to AI. Are you great at long-form content but hate one-liners? Are you confident writing bullet points but nervous about prose? Is your ‘comfort tone’ uber professional rather than casual and jocular? Master the art of prompting and you’ll meet your perfect partner in generative AI. ❣️The choice here is simple.
