We are excited to announce that The New Generation Collection is going on public display for the first time in Harrods this Friday 5th July. From when Harrods opens it's doors at 10am on Friday 5th July you will be able see, hear and experience the New Generation Collection for yourself. Showcasing not just the new designs and finishes that make up the New Generation collection but featuring the all new S132 piano - a piano entirely sourced (where feasibly possible) from Britian as well as Made In Britian - alongside the first ever public showcasing of a Goldfinch designed commission - The Solis. Built by hand. Being one of two British piano builders left in existence we take great pride in showcasing the best of British craftsmanship with every piano we make. It takes around 420 – 500 hours for our team of artisans to build an Edelweiss Piano.   Every Edelweiss client and prospective client is always welcomed to come and walk the floors of our workshops to see our pianos being built.

Made To Order. All of our pianos are made to order here in Britain at our workshops in Fulbourn, Cambridge. Our pianos are not just another production line piano. We are family business that takes great pride in the fact that every piano we build is to order and always unique to the client.  That is why we are the leading maker of bespoke pianos for the home.

The Smallest Grand Piano In The World. The all new S132 model is officially the smallest grand piano in the world. Only 132cm front to back this is great baby grand piano for apartments and superyachts where space is at a premium. Due to it’s semicircular shape, the Edelweiss S132 is what enables us to create the most unique live, musical art, sculptural commissions in the world. Still a fully acoustic, full 88 note baby grand piano – this piano can fit where most others can’t.

The Silex The Silex – the name is French for ‘Flint’ - was selected from the Goldfinch design vault to become part of the New Generation Range. Inspired by nature in the form of the ubiquitous flint - a commonly found stone that was apparently well used by our ancestors - which has a rough pale outer cortex that wraps around the hard dark quartz interior, and it is not until it is cracked open that the flint is revealed.  The smooth flowing curves represents encasing the Silex form emulate the cortex and the natural curvaceous shapes formed by nature, whereas the striking contrast of the sharply chiselled face the initial revealing of the quartz. In common with The Solis, there are 3 specially developed and paired finishes that can combined exactly as you want to bring out the different contrasting beauties of this outstanding sculptural piece. The Solis You can’t help but be attracted by the exquisite beauty of The Solis, an iconic design created by our resident artist, Goldfinch, which we are now delighted to introduce as one of the two Sculptural pieces in the New Generation. The name is Latin for sun – the original design inspiration was commissioned to represent the outstanding sun rises over the Californian desert. The ‘sun discs’ are finished in the specially developed Sunbaked Gold finish which has been crafted using 24 carat gold leaf, whereas the body is tastefully contrasted in Heirloom Bronze, a pure liquid metal finish – both these finishes are exclusive to Edelweiss and form part of 3 specially developed and paired finishes for our sculptures. The Liquid Moda This design came from an unlikely concept, remembering a childhood story that had featured square sweets that looked round, we decided to create a round piano that looked square! The monolithic blocks that replace the traditional 3 leg design gives a modern twist to a very classical shape.
