Started off my latest trip across the pond strong! Had the pleasure of speaking at a Local Government Pension Scheme Investment dinner with our partners at Crispin Derby Ltd. Thanks to those who joined us for an evening of insights and lively discussion - I enjoyed sharing my perspective on the current market environment and hearing from the audience on what is top of mind for them, including how to access incremental yield within their credit allocation while maintaining high underwriting standards. At a recent investment conference a respected CIO responded to a question about private markets by saying ‘everything is for sale.’  The implication was that current stated NAVS don’t represent an achievable sale price.  In my most recent article I look at whether private markets are an opportunity or a trap for investors.  It’s especially important given the Government’s recent push to encourage pension funds to invest more there.
