“If Superman can’t stop Lex Luthor, how can we?”
That’s the chilling reality facing the people of Smallville in the upcoming fourth and final season of Superman & Lois, premiering with two back-to-back episodes on Monday, Oct. 7 (The CW, 8/7c).
As if Superman’s apparent defeat isn’t troubling enough, TVLine’s exclusive sneak peek of the Season 4 premiere finds Lana (Emmanuelle Chriqui) sharing more disturbing news with Sarah (Inde Navarrette) — Lex Luthor (Michael Cudlitz) has put down deeper roots in their little town, part of his master plan to take revenge on Lois (Bitsie Tulloch).
“We can’t stand by and do nothing,” Sarah insists. “Mom, I’m serious. John is really worried about his family. They’re not ready for Mr. Kent to be gone. We have to keep them safe.” Unfortunately, as Lana reminds her, that’s all easier said than done.
Picking up with Superman’s fatal face-off against Bizarro Doomsday, the 10-episode final season of Superman & Lois finds the Man of Steel’s nearest and dearest uniting to take down his sworn enemy, this time without him in the picture.
“Smallville really becomes a massive character this season in a way it hadn’t been in the first three,” executive producer Todd Helbing recently told TVLine of Season 4. “All of the other townsfolk that you’ve gotten to know, you get to know a little bit more.”
Returning as series regulars are Tyler Hoechlin as Clark/Superman, Tulloch as Lois, Alex Garfin as Jordan, Michael Bishop as Jonathan and Cudlitz as Lex. In addition to Chriqui and Navarrette as Lana and Sarah, Season 4 will also feature appearances from Wolé Parks as John Henry, Tayler Buck as Natalie, Erik Valdez as Kyle, Sofia Hasmik as Chrissy and Dylan Walsh as General Lane.

Am I the only one who is so nervous? I’m very excited for the new episodes, but also really anxious. I always loved the family dynamics and I hope Superman doesn’t “stay dead” for too long. We only get 10 last episodes.
I think they kept the Flash on the air 2 seasons too long… while S&L and Stargirl ending too soon.
Darn! I was hoping we’d left Smallville behind and the series made the jump to Metropolis. Not gonna lie, this has made me less interested in the final season.
