The CW Reveals Fall Premiere Dates for Superman & Lois’ Final Season, The Librarians Sequel and More
The CW on Thursday revealed premiere dates for its Fall 2024 TV season, which includes a superhero show’s swan song and the introduction of a fan-favorite’s sequel.
The season will get off to a blessed start with Season 4 of the Jesus-centric The Chosen in September. As previously reported, the fourth run of episodes will make its broadcast-TV debut on Sunday, Sept. 1.
October will herald the debut of Joan, a 1980s-set drama in which Game of Thrones alum Sophie Turner plays jewel thief Joan Hannington, as well as the premiere of The Librarians sequel series The Next Chapter. In addition, Superman & Lois‘ final season will kick off with a two-hour premiere on Thursday, Oct. 17.
Among the network’s imported series, Sullivan’s Crossing will have its Season 2 premiere in October, and Children Ruin Everything will be back for Season 4 in November.
Wild Cards, which recently was renewed for a 13-episode Season 2, will premiere in 2025.

What about Wild cards?
Wild Cards season 1 premiered in January in both Canada (home country) and the US. January 2025 would be the earliest season 2 would premiere.
It said in the article that it won’t be back until 2025. I don’t think they’ve started filming yet, so there wouldn’t be enough time to get anything ready for the fall.
It will air next year. They will start filming Season 2 later this year.

What about Son of a Critch? Absolutely loved that show. Excellent acting. Very funny. Family show.
A season of SOAC typically begins in January on the CBC in Canada, so I presume as soon as it gets renewed there, CW will renew it here.
CBC put out a press release last month announcing their 2024-2025 slate. Critch was renewed and is listed as winter 2025.
Hint: Solid reliable scheduling is what broadcast can do that streaming doesn’t, give structure to viewing. The CW always seems all over the map. Am I wrong?
Reliable? You must be new here. Broadcast TV hasn’t been reliable in decades. My favourite shows have constantly been pre-empted, delayed, start late, have more ads every year (20 years ago 1 hour shows were 50 minute shows, 10 minute ads, not its 40 minutes at best and 20 minutes of ads).
It was way longer than 20 years ago that had 50 minutes of content on broadcast. 24 season 1 aired 2001-2002 and every episode is 41-43 minutes which is what they still are today.
With the exception of Sullivan’s crossing & wildcards — which can be seen on other networks btw…..This network is now trash.

Huh? You give a date for Children Ruin Everything returning, then you include it in ‘fate to be determined.’ Confusing. I hope the premier date is the correct info, I love that show.
Some other articles about this schedule have CHE’s return on 11/13. So yes, this premiere date is correct.

Is Joan only a six episode order? I hate that The Spencer Sisters won’t be coming back, at least I will get more Wild Cards and The Chosen. When will Sight Unseen and World’s Funniest Animals fate be known?

No decision has been made on airing Season 4 Stateside, no. –Mgmt.
It was renewed for season 4 in Canada and started filming a few months ago so it’s still early days to know if CW will renew it. But given that it’s a hit in Canada and one of the few successful foreign imports on CW, I can’t imagine they wouldn’t pick up season 4.
Season 4 already aired in Australia but not in Canada as yet. It was a bit confusing at first because Australia also had a show called The Family Law which also aired for 4 seadons. so if they’re filming anything for Family Law now that would be Season 5 which would b great news.

I’m sure no one else cares but I think Joan sounds interesting or at least the premise does. At least it’s not another cop/medical/legal procedural! Or another twist on the quirky detective or clashing couple becomes a detective pair premise because those have been done to death by now.
What happen to the series with Lea Thompson in it? Is it returning for another season or did it get let go by network? Is it continuing on a different network or it’s original broadcaster? I like that show! Where is it on the schedule?

I think the CW is pretty dang stupid for getting rid of Walter and Superman and Lois. I mean come on post you keep showing trapped and nobody wants to watch but we like to watch that and you got another dumb blonde lady show on that I’ve never watched it never going to. You need to leave them two shelves along and bring them back and maybe go pick up blue bloods
