Roku and Tubi will be the free streaming homes for Westworld, Raised by Wolves, The Nevers and other Warner Bros. Discovery content that was recently removed from HBO Max, as part of a co-exclusive deal that includes “hundreds” of TV series and movies from the WBD portfolio.
As reported in December, WBD’s plan was to shop the series it had removed from its own subscription streaming service (as part of an expansive and seismic cost-cutting move) and shop them to FAST (free, ad-supported streaming TV) services.
Warner Bros. Discovery’s co-exclusive deals with Roku and Tubi include all seasons of Westworld, Raised by Wolves, The Nevers, The Time Traveler’s Wife, Finding Magic Mike, Head of the Class, Legendary and F-Boy Island, many of which were abruptly disappeared from HBO Max late last year. UPDATE: Tubi has also acquired the exclusive rights to HBO Max’s short-lived teen drama Genera+ion, which began streaming Feb. 1.
TVLine has confirmed that both deals include all 12 episodes of The Nevers, including the final six that have never aired/been seen.
All told, both FAST services will offer up “hundreds of TV series and movies” from the WBD portfolio’s other brands, such as Discovery Channel, HGTV, Food Network and TLC. That includes the likes of Cake Boss, My Cat from Hell, Breaking Amish, Caribbean Life, How It’s Made, Paranormal Lockdown, The Tomorrow People (I’ve heard of that one!) and My Five Wives, plus select seasons of The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise.
Tubi says it will begin rolling out its WBD content “as early as February 1 and throughout the month,” while Roku is simply targeting “Spring 2023.”
Gonna be weird to be watching Westworld and have ads pop up.
And babes, Tubi loves an ad break every five minutes. I’ll be watching Bad Girls Club or Flavor of Love, they’ll get to an iconic fight or argument, then BAM. Ad time.
Also Tubi streams shows in SD not HD. :(
I think it depends on program. HD vs SD. I know the older shows are in SD. To be honest I cannot remember the last TV show I watched on Tubi.
I think I’ve only streamed one or two myself. But when checking streaming options for shows, they’ve all been SD on Tubi thru Comcast.
Interesting, so there might be a chance some other network can cheaply aquire the rights to continue some of these shows.
Thinking of CBC getting in on “The Vampire Diaries” universe would be a good idea
Acquiring the rights to air completed productions is far different and cheaper than acquiring the rights to continue a franchise. I mean, I’m definitely not opposed to your suggestion as a fan of TVD shows (Legacies really grew on me in the end), but it’s perhaps not as realistic as you are thinking, unfortunately.
Great news about The Nevers at least we get to see the last 6 episodes
Yes! Looking forward to this!
Any word on “Love Life”. I was hoping to share that with someone and it vanished.
LOVE LIFE was part of a second batch of non-WBTV produced shows that are being shopped separately:

Any word on specific dates for episodes 7-12 of the Nevers? And do we know if those episodes have even been filmed yet?
They’re filmed and edited, completely done. Otherwise we wouldn’t be getting them.
I avoid ads like the plague but will be watching the final episodes of the Nevers. Big disappointment that Raised by Wolves and the Nevers were cancelled.
I know it’s unlikely since everyone likes to end seasons with cliffhangers, but I really hope The Nevers team was smart enough to wrap everything up by the end. What a shame.
I don’t understand how Westworld (an HBO series) gets cut off HBO Max…
Capitalism.
Warner doesn’t want to pay residuals to the cast of Westworld so they move off of their platform so they don’t have to. Now they sell the rights to someone else and make a little money, and save a lot by not paying the cast.
So you pay for one of the most expensive streamers AND you have to watch Ads on another platform for half of WB content. And, if you don’t live on the US, not even that… HBOMax, sorry, MAX, is just not worth it anymore,
What about Babylon 5? That was removed last week and is no where else.
Babylon 5 is on Tubi now, don’t know when it started, but I saw it when I was looking for The Nevers. WB channel but live streaming only I think.
Babylon 5 on Tubi now, the live WB channel.
Well, I guess I hope the Nevers ends up on Tubi. At least the commercials are regular and short and also my app of that works fairly reliably. Unlike my Roku one which I am still trying to play Zoe’s Christmas special from a year a half ago on but it just keeps circling and circling. And like not in the we are baffled but your password is close, I get all the way to the show and it, is it still called buffering?
1000 ways to die!
I know some people don’t mind commercials in streaming programming. I think they completely ruin the viewing experience, especially with shows like “Westworld” that were made to be seen without interruption. They’re even worse than commercial broadcast television, because the ads are even more annoying, usually repeat several times within the same show, take time to load if your internet service isn’t that good, and make rewinding or fast-forwarding virtually impossible. The shows aren’t even “free” if you’re already paying for HBO Max and they’re moved to these services (or you’re paying for Amazon Prime and a show is moved to FreeVee). I realize this is a long rant — but if this is the direction the streaming services are moving, it’s certainly not for the viewers’ benefit.
Yesss THIS!
TOTALLY AGREE
Cannot stand watching the same ads over and over and over again. and also the ads are sometimes louder than the show. that’s the problems with streaming imo
Thank you for eloquently stating what I am thinking. I pay extra on streamers not to watch commercials. They ruin the content flow and are stupidly annoying.
I also have an over-the-air TIVO which I’m not sure if Tivo is going to stick around in the DVR marketplace but it really is worth the initial investment to me (especially if you find a good sale or find one cheap elsewhere that has the all-in plan included). And so even with antenna, I can quickly get through ads. I think more people would enjoy broadcast if they used such a DVR. Only bad thing is if there are interruptions due to weather alerts/etc. so that you have to find the ep online but overall, if you have a good antenna and can also get a lot of classics on sub-channels, it’s pretty great. But yeah, the few times I do actually go watch something online with ads that can’t be skipped, they can be really painful.
Hope springs eternal that someone will pick up Babylon 5
Any word on Snowpercer?
snowpiercer
Snowpiercer final season will not air on TNT. It is being shipped to other networks
Wait, The Tomorrow People as in the 2013-2014 CW sci-fi drama?? I mean, I loved the show, but man what a random choice, heh.
Do you know when they will get Lego Masters Australia season 4 on Tubi?
I was going to cancel HBO a couple of months ago, but I was convinced to go half on a 1 year subscription. I WILL be cancelling after the year is up, but at least I’m not affected by the price hike. So kinda Lose-Win?
P.S. Any word if Beforeigners has found a new streamer?
I’ve been waiting on The Nevers for years. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry…
Is the Roku and Tubi the only way to watch
New episodes of Dexter and other popular programs
This defeats the entire purpose of subscribing to a streaming service line HBO Max. I subscribe to have full access to ALL HBO content (old and new). Now that’s not possible and isn’t worth staying subscribed. They even pull down new stuff quickly. Instead of paying yearly, I guess it makes more sense to just pay for one month to watch a show when it’s out, then just cancel quickly and go watch Tubi for free.
I thought that Raised by wolves was cancelled??
Thank goodness we’ll get the back 6 of Nevers, though watching with commercials will be a bummer
I’m new to smart tv and was browsing my roku tv channels and today I saw Westworld and thought “that can’t be right?” Cool that it is, the only problem is it’s hard to binge a show that’s on like a marathon. Can’t sit down and watch it all at once.
