High seas hi-jinks
Stage Right School for the Performing Arts takes to the high seas for a weekend production of the 1934 musical “Anything Goes,” featuring Cole Porter classics such as the title song and “I Get a Kick Out of You.”
A multiple Tony Award-winner, the madcap romp tells the story of a stowaway who falls in love with an heiress aboard an ocean liner.

Off to see the wizard
Westmoreland Performing Arts Theatre Company will open its 2022-23 season with the beloved tale of “The Wizard of Oz,” playing this weekend in the Science Hall Theater on the Westmoreland County Community College main campus in Hempfield.
The adaptation by the Royal Shakespeare Company features all the songs and moments from the classic 1939 film. The WPA production is enhanced by special sound effects and scenic projections.
The cast features 43 WPA students, along with adult and professional actors. Katherine Harkins is Dorothy, Renata Marino is the Wicked Witch and John Noble is the Wizard.

Fall frolic
The Westmoreland Arts & Heritage Festival will host a fall festival from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Twin Lakes Park, 219 Twin Lakes Road, Unity.
The event will feature vendors of fine art, crafts, decorative items, food products, wine and spirits, soaps and other products. Entertainment will include a pumpkin carver and music by Hamilton Avenue, Tim Schmider and Big Fat Jazz.
Prepared foods will be available for purchase.

Main event
Gig on Main is planned for 5-11 p.m. Saturday along Main Street in downtown Irwin.
The big block party will feature music by The Clarks, with special guests Gene the Werewolf and Triple Play Band. Food trucks and a beer garden will be on site.

Music for a cause
Band Together Pittsburgh will host Jim Donovan and Sun King Warriors during a special performance from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in St. Clair Park, along Maple Avenue in downtown Greensburg.
The organization uses music as a basis for programming, experiences and vocational opportunities to enhance the lives of people on the autism spectrum.
The event also will feature Band Together Pittsburgh musicians, including the Spectrum Band and DJ Noah.
