The WPIAL girls basketball regular season is nearly in the books and the district playoff field has been finalized with 84 teams punching their ticket to ride into the district playoffs.

A change in the playoff format this season has sections with eight or more teams sending the top five teams to the playoffs while sections with seven or fewer schools will send the traditional top four teams.

If two or more teams tied for the final playoff spot and the head-to-head tiebreaker did not break the tie, all of the tied teams qualified.

The WPIAL will release the girls basketball brackets Monday with the Playoff Pairings Show that day on Trib HSSN at 3 p.m.

Here is the final list of teams that have earned a district playoff berth through Friday.
