Tesla's humanoid robots launch
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced that the company's humanoid robot, Optimus, will enter limited production early next year. However, these initial units will be exclusively for Tesla's internal use, allowing the company to refine the technology and "iron out the issues" before a wider release.
Musk outlined the production roadmap during an earnings call on July 23, stating that Tesla plans to ramp up production of Optimus in 2026.
“We expect to have several thousand Optimus robots produced and doing useful things by the end of next year in the Tesla factories,” the billionaire and Tesla CEO said during the call.
At that point, the second-generation version of the robot will be available for purchase by external customers.
