Travis Hunter’s best friend Kai Cenat breaks silence on relationship drama, reveals surprising thoughts on the backlash

The college football star and one of the top picks for the NFL Draft 2025, Travis Hunter has been facing a tough time. He has gotten mercilessly trolled on social media because of his relationship with fiancee Leanna Lenee. While many players and musicians have offered advice to Travis, his best friend, the online streamer and YouTuber, Kai Cenat has finally spoken about Travis and his fiancee, Leanna Lenee and what he feels about the entire situation.
Kai appeared on the famous podcast of Shannon Sharpe’s, Club Shay Shay and spoke about his point of view of this entire fiasco that involves his best friend and the recent recipient of the prestigious Heisman Trophy, Travis Hunter. Kai spoke about how Travis and Leanna needs to escape the hate they have been getting. He has also refused to comment on the hate the couple has received in the last few weeks.
Kai said, “Yeah, I’ve seen them deactivate their accounts. They probably gotta just escape it [social media hate]. That’s what they gotta do, just figure that out. That’s their business… [But] it is hard. I know… It do be tough.”

While some fans appreciated Kai for not sending more hate towards Travis and Leanna and for staying out of their relationship issues, some fans did not like this approach of Kai’s. A fan commented, “Travis Hunter has a whole nation behind him yelling don’t do it. At some point you gotta look yourself in the mirror and realize the reality of the situation is what it is”
Another fan wrote, “Nah travis just slow and cant read the room but i pray nothing negative happens to their relationship cuz dude is a kind soul but his girl has a bad track record and everybody is trynna help out its more so just be careful and dont be a goofy pay attention to actions thats all”
Both Travis and Leanna had issued public statements to defend their relationship but it does not seem like it worked. The hate got so much that both of them had to stay away from social media for a few days. Leanna still has her social media accounts on private while Travis had to delete his account on Instagram because the whole experience was “draining” him. Travis had previously asked his fans to “get a life” since his fans were “very invested in his relationship.”

A few days ago, Travis’ mother also posted in his support on her Instagram but did not issue any statements or show any support to Travis’ fiancee Leanna Lenee.
Travis and Leanna have been dating for a couple of years and their wedding is said to be held in April of this year while his fans are constantly asking him to break up with her.
