IND vs ENG 1st T20I Highlights: Abhishek blows England away in India's 7-wicket win

India (133/3 in 12.5 overs) beat England (132 all out) by 7 wickets to take 1-0 in the five-match series, as Abhishek Sharma stars with the bat (79 off 34 balls, including 5 fours and 8 sixes). Varun Chakravarthy (3/23) was the leading wicket-taker for the hosts after they won the toss and opted to bowl at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, using three frontline spinners, while veteran pacer Mohammed Shami continued to wait for his return to national colours.

The opener departs after entertaining the Eden Gardens crowd with a stroke-filled knock (79 off 34 balls), including 5 fours and 8 sixes, that has put India, 125/3, within eights runs of a big win. Adil Rashid gets the wicket but 40 runs too late after dropping him at 29.

Atkinson, who gave away 22 runs in the only over he had bowled before this, is welcomed back by a six fom Abhishek (71* off 29 balls), followed by a four. India in a hurry to go back to team hotel. 111/2 in 10.3 overs.

Abhishek Sharma (60* off 26 balls) has made a mockery of this run-chase, as he brings up India's 100 in 10 overs. The hosts now need just 33 runs to win in 60 balls with eight wickets standing.

Abhishek breathes fire to bring up his fifth in 20 balls, reaching the landmark with his sixth maximum. England have no answer to the left-hander's skills. India 90/2 in 8.2 overs, chasing 133 to win.

Rashid spills a relatively easy return catch at shin-high level to give Abhishek another chance on 29, and the Indian opener rubs salt in England's wounds with four off the next ball, followed by two sixes to move to 45 off 19 balls. India 83/2 in 8 overs.

England captain Jos Buttler consumes his frontline pacer Jofra Acher in the first seven overs of India's run-chase. His impressive figures read 2/21. India 67/2 in 7 overs. Adil Rashid into the attack with his leg-spin.

Axar Patel comes back into the attack, but spills a chance, that too of dangerman Buttler (59*), who hit it straight back to the bowler. But it resulted in a single instead. England 95/5

The England captain smashes two fours off Ravi Bishnoi's over, including two fours, to move to 59* off 39 balls. England 94/5 in 13 overs.

Varun almost had this third wicket but Bethell (2*) survived a stumping appeal, even as wicketkeeper Sanju Samson seemed pretty confident. But replays showed the batter just managed to keep some part of his foot behind the poppping crease.

After waiting for more than two overs to face his first ball, Duckett (4) plays an innovative shot for four and tries to go big on the next delivery as wel, but perishes in the act, caught by Rinku Singh smartly.
