NEW DELHI: In a miraculous incident, a speed breaker turned life-saver for a 'dead' 65-year-old man, a resident of Kasaba-Bawada in western Maharashtra's Kolhapur district. The incident unfolded on December 16, when an ambulance was carrying the body of Pandurang Ulpe, from the hospital to his home where his family members and relatives gathered to mourn.
He was rushed to the private hospital on Dec 16 after he suffered a heart attack. The doctors declared him dead there.
Shockingly, when the ambulance crossed the speed breaker, his wife observed some movement in his fingers.
"When we were bringing his "body" home from the hospital, the ambulance passed over a speed breaker and we noticed that there was a movement in his fingers," his wife said, according to a report from news agency PTI.
Soon he was taken to another hospital, where he underwent an angioplasty and on Monday a fortnight after the incident, he walked home.
Ulpe, a warkari (devotee of Lord Vitthal) said, "I had come home from a walk and was sitting after sipping tea. I felt dizzy and breathless. I went to the bathroom and vomited. I don't remember what happened afterwards, including who took me to the hospital."
