Acting with SJ Suryah has been a dream come true: Edin Rose
Edin Rose, who stepped into the film industry last year with the dance number Dikka Dishum in Ravi Teja-starrer Ravanasura, is gearing up for her Tamil debut with Vignesh Shivan’s Love Insurance Kompany. What’s interesting is that she will be playing a robot with artificial intelligence in the film.
In a candid chat with us, the actress shares, “Vignesh Shivan sir’s team contacted me for this role, as they thought I would be apt for it.”
Delving into how she went about playing a robot, she states, “I had to watch a lot of videos and study about AI robots as my movements, even the small gestures, had to be proper. I had to practice the mannerisms quite a lot.”
Edin then tells us about her experience working with SJ Suryah and Pradeep Ranganathan in her first Tamil film. “My scenes were with SJ Suryah sir and Pradeep sir only, and I didn’t act with Krithi Shetty. Needless to say, they are both very creative. Vignesh sir has such a creative mind, and the actors I worked with for this film are so brilliant in their craft that I got to learn a lot,” she reveals.
Ever a big fan of SJ Suryah, Edin says, “It felt like I was living a dream. For the first few days, I couldn’t process that I would be sharing screen space with him. The man is exceptional, not just on screen but off screen as well. He is so bubbly and creative. Acting with him has been a dream come true.”
Ask her about a moment she cherishes from the Love Insurance Kompany set, and she says, “There was this instance where Suryah sir gave a monologue with so many different emotions and voice modulations. I had goosebumps seeing him perform and everyone on set clapped after that take. But Suryah sir is such a perfectionist that he wanted another take. That’s when I learnt what perfection really is and how good actors really think. He knew he could go up a notch.” She is also all praise for her Ravanasura co-actor, Ravi Teja. “He is like a live wire! I was shaking when I did my first take with him. I remember him telling me to relax. He even told me he has no qualms if I did multiple takes. This gave me so much courage and confidence. It’s so easy to work with him,” shares the actress.
A BOLLYWOOD FILM IN THE PIPELINE...
On her upcoming projects, Edin shares, “I have a few lovely projects lined up, but I cannot share details about them, as of now. All I can say is that you’ll see me in Bollywood soon.”
