BOKARO: Two Maoists were found dead in a fierce encounter between security forces and Maoists in the forest near Bansi village of Pek Narayanpur police station area under Nawadih block of Bokaro.
The place is close to the border of Hazaribagh and Giridih districts. A massive search operation is being carried out in the area.
Jharkhand Police spokesperson Amol Vinukant Homkar confirmed the recovery of two dead bodies.
“Many sophisticated weapons were also recovered. It was a joint police team of Jharkhand Police and COBRA 209 Battalion, who conducted raids and are still launching search operations to nab the Maoists in the area,” he added.
According to the sources, the police received information about the Maoists' movement in the forest near Bansi village.
A search operation was conducted as per the information. During the search operation, upon seeing the security forces, the Maoists started firing at them. In retaliation, the security forces also took up positions, and within no time, heavy firing started on both sides.
