MP police have arrested four suspects in the murder of Shiv Prasad Sahu, sparking a dispute between Congress and BJP leaders. Congress's Bhupesh Baghel calls for a reinvestigation, while Deputy CM Vijay Sharma accuses Baghel of politicizing the issue.
RAIPUR: Soon after MP police arrested four suspects for murder in the Loharadih case, Congress and BJP leaders got into a verbal spat. While Congress neta Bhupesh Baghel demanded a reinvestigation of the whole case, monitored by a high court judge, the deputy CM, Vijay Sharma, accused Baghel of fuelling the dispute.
A villager Shiv Prasad Sahu alias Kacharu from Kabirdham district of Chhattisgarh was found hanging in Bijatola region of Balaghat district in MP which was followed by arson, violence and murder of a deputy sarpanch Raghunath Sahu and his house was set on fire.
.

The tension went on for next one week in Kabirdham district as one among hundreds of people arrested, died in prison, leading to further tumult.
While initially it appeared that Kacharu died by suicide, but the villagers alleged it was murder and opposition Congress echoed the allegation demanding thorough probe in the matter.
On Wednesday, MP police arrested four people for murder of Kacharu. Kacahru allegedly played a key role in ostracizing members of the Sahu community, which triggered the accused to murder him.
Following the arrest, former chief minister and Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel in Raipur alleged that the home minister Vijay Sharma and former SP had been trying to cover up this matter and their roles were suspicious, he said.

"Over 167 people have been arrested in the matter based on what the son of Raghunath Sahu said, the youth, who himself had criminal records. Will the govt hang all 167 people? The Loharidih matter needs a thorough reinvestigation under the monitoring of a sitting judge of the high court and a special investigation committee should be constituted. The case has turned 360 degrees, as Kacharu's death turned out to be murder, and not suicide," Baghel said.
Reacting to Baghel's remarks, deputy CM Vijay Sharma, who also holds home portfolio, said, "The mystery of the first murder in Loharidih of Kacharu Sahu has been solved. Now, Bhupesh Baghel has to again do politics on this. I want to ask him-- can you just look at the person and decide if he has committed a crime, or we should get into investigation first, gather evidence and then come to a conclusion? He wanted a conclusion right away, then and there."
Bhupesh Baghel is lying and quoting others statements which were never given, Sharma said, adding, "Baghel in fact went to the village and fuelled the dispute. The way he is doing politics in the name of a minor, by dragging him into the case, I request him not to take the name of a minor because it is an offence."
I had told earlier also that as per the preliminary information, Kacharu died of suffocation and further probe had begun, Sharma said.
The minister said that Congress has nurtured the criminals for five years during its regime, be it Surajpur issue where NSUI members were involved in double murder, then Congress MLA is in jail for Baloda Bazar violence and arson incident.
"Baghel has reached to the level of politics where a politician isn't expected to be at," Sharma said.
