Railgram to highlight evolutionof Railways at Sonepur fair
Patna: Sonepur fair, Asia's biggest cattle fair, which is being flocked by hundreds of visitors, will have a new addition from Tuesday with the opening of Railgram stalls by the Sonepur division of the East Central Railway (ECR).
The railgram will offer visitors an immersive experience and glorious history of the Indian Railways, said Sonepur divisional railway manager (DRM) Vivek Bhushan Sood.
According to Sood, the Railgram will feature a blend of both historical and futuristic railways' plans. The star attraction will be the miniature model of Indian Railways replicating the country's extensive rail network, he said.
As the visitors stroll through the exhibits, they will witness a model of Vande Bharat Express, showcasing the train's sleek design, advanced technology and passenger friendly features. The visitors will also be able to interact through informative panels that explain how the Vande Bharat Express represents a new era of self-reliance and modernisation for Indian Railways, the DRM said, adding a vintage engine exhibit will take visitors back in time presenting a contrast between the mighty steam engines and the futuristic Vande Bharat model.
In addition, a special attraction for children and families will be the ‘toy train' running through a miniature landscape, providing a fun, interactive experience for young visitors. This ride will not only entertain, but it will also serve as a reminder of the enduring charm of rail travel that still captivates generations, Sood said.
According to Sonepur senior divisional commercial manager Raushan Kumar, the exhibition will also showcase other significant developments in the railway sector such as safety innovations, station modernisation and the future of railway infrastructure in Bihar. Several information kiosks will be set up where experts will provide insights into how Indian Railways is constantly evolving to meet the growing demands of the country's population and economy, he said.
