Buxar: Police seized 354 cartons containing a total of 3,144 litres of India-made foreign liquor (IMFL) concealed in biscuit boxes and loaded onto a truck under the jurisdiction of Naya Bhojpur police station on Wednesday night. The truck driver, Tejpal Sharma, a resident of Udaipur in Rajasthan, was arrested.
"Following a tip-off, we received information that a large consignment of liquor was being transported from Rajasthan to Darbhanga via Buxar. The truck was heading towards Naya Bhojpur along the Buxar-Ara NH-922 route. Acting on the directions of the Buxar SP, a police team led by me stopped the truck, labelled as a ‘postal parcel', for checking near the Naya Bhojpur police station. Upon inspection, the police discovered 354 cartons of foreign liquor of various brands, all hidden within biscuit boxes. The truck driver was taken into custody on the spot," Dumraon SDPO Afaque Akhtar Ansari said.
