Annamalai a failed politician, says Sekarbabu
Chennai: Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments (HR & CE) minister P K Sekarbabu on Monday dubbed BJP state president K Annamalai a "failed politician". Sekarbabu was responding to criticism from Annamalai that "a successful actor has entered politics, and a failed actor became deputy CM".
Speaking to reporters after his inspection in cyclone-affected areas in north Chennai, Sekarbabu said, "His (Annamalai's) three-month hiatus to pursue an international course on politics shows that he is a failed politician. Due to circumstances, he undertook the course. But we (DMK) have both field knowledge as well as knowledge through education."
"Udhayanidhi was a ‘maamannan' (a glorious king) before entering politics. Downtrodden and middle-class people and those who are neutral have started praising Udhayanidhi," said Sekarbabu. The minister said Udhayanidhi was on the field even before the rain started. "He is acting to fulfil all basic needs of the people. Not just one Annamalai, but even if a thousand Annamalai comes, the Dravidian model of govt and our chief minister will continue to govern," Sekarbabu said. tnn
