Despite the blistering cold, soccer fans and supporters of women’s sports turned out in full force yesterday for the highly anticipated premiere screening of For The Win at The Paley Center for Media in New York City. Presented by Prime Video, the exclusive event showcased the first episode of the four-part docu-series, which provides an inside look at Gotham FC and the Orlando Pride as they battle for the NWSL Championship.
Held in the Paley Center’s Frank A. Bennack, Jr. Theater, the screening highlighted the evolution of women’s professional soccer in the U.S. Before the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) was established in 2012, female players had only the U.S. National Team as a major career aspiration. For The Win captures the league’s growing impact and the determination of its athletes as they continue to push the game forward.

Following the screening, NWSL Commissioner Jessica Berman took the stage alongside two-time World Cup champion and former Gotham FC star Ali Krieger. Director Marie Margolius, known for her work with Words + Pictures, also joined the discussion, sharing insights on the creative process behind the series. The conversation was moderated by Eli Manning, two-time Super Bowl champion and Gotham FC co-owner, who brought his own championship perspective to the dialogue.
The event served as a celebration of women’s soccer and a testament to the sport’s rapid growth, setting the stage for an exciting season ahead.
