'Rob Peace' Trailer: Chiwetel Ejiofor's Celebrated Sundance Drama Arrives August 16

How far would a son go to get his father out of prison? Would he risk his own future? Those are the questions at the heart the upcoming film, “Rob Peace.”

As seen in the trailer, “Rob Peace” tells the story of a brilliant young guy who decides to risk his own future to help get his father released from prison. The film stars Jay Will, Mary J. Blige, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Michael Kelly, Mare Winningham, and Camila Cabello. “Rob Peace” is written and directed by Ejiofor. Previously, the actor-turned-filmmaker wrote and directed the 2019 film “The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind.”

“Rob Peace” played as part of this year’s Sundance Film Festival, and in our review, we said, “It does not take much imagination to imagine a version of ‘Rob Peace’ where, given the room to sit with events, Rob’s journey provides a damning X-ray of American society’s shortsightedness. But far too often, the film settles for simply conveying information through dramatization.”
