Impact
Journalism’s highest calling is to drive change by exposing the truth. Our work has attracted the attention of lawmakers, impacted communities, and advocates and stakeholders.
Our recent impact includes a Supreme Court hearing on a death penalty case we’ve been investigating for years, a call in Congress to review Pentagon actions in a drone strike and the Bureau of Land Management stopping the use of a controversial weapon after our reporting detailed its effect on wildlife.
The Intercept also works to expose what corporate interests want to hide from the public. For example, we uncovered how major companies kept information about the dangers of self-driving cars hidden, forcing them to take corrective action.
