Mark has qualifications in Environmental Science, Urban and Regional Planning and Project Management. He completed a PhD at the University of Newcastle titled 'Decision-making in land use planning: the consideration of natural hazard risks when identifying land for urban settlement'. He works as an environmental scientist and planner in private practice and has completed numerous environmental planning reports on state significant development, infrastructure, residential and commercial buildings and rezoning.
