WASHINGTON — The Trump White House is claiming victory in a showdown with Colombia over deportees from the U.S. as the new president escalates a promised crackdown on undocumented immigrants.
The South American nation backed down from a confrontation over the deportation flights after Trump threatened to impose tough tariffs and other sanctions.
Affordable housing, higher pay for county employees and the condition of beaches were among a myriad of issues to surface during a daylong planning meeting of the Glynn County Commission at Sea Palms on Monday.
Jury selection continued Tuesday morning with a primary panel of 12 jurors and one alternate chosen in the trial of former Brunswick Judicial Circuit District Attorney Jackie Johnson. Attorneys then turned their sights on finding more alternate jurors.
One of the men convicted of murdering Ahmaud Arbery in 2020 may testify in the trial of former Brunswick Judicial Circuit District Attorney Jackie Johnson, who is accused of obstruction and violating her oath of office for allegedly interfering with the investigation of the killing.
