Themed Curation Project
COVID-19 Coronavirus
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, intensive efforts by the international research community have generated a vast amount of new data on Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the causal agent of COVID-19. This research will facilitate understanding of the biology of the pathogen and enable development of new therapeutic approaches. To assist the global research effort, the BioGRID COVID-19 Coronavirus Project provides comprehensive datasets of curated interactions for the viral proteins encoded by SARS-CoV-2, as well as for the related coronaviruses SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV that cause Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), respectively. These datasets encompass all direct interactions between virally-encoded proteins and host cell proteins, as well as post-translational modifications and chemical interactions of viral proteins.
Given the urgent need to mitigate effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, many coronavirus research studies have been released as pre-prints in BioRxiv and MedRxiv prior to peer-review. In order to help disseminate this data as quickly as possible, we have curated interaction data from such preprint reports prior to publication. Once pre-print datasets are published in a peer-reviewed journal, we update the status of the associated datasets to reflect the published versions. A matched list of triaged pre-print versus published versions of such datasets is provided in the additional links below.
The COVID-19 Coronavirus curation project is on-going and will be updated each month.
