Yinson opens fourth computer lab in Ahanta West Municipality

Yinson Production West Africa Limited has made another impactful move to enhance educational opportunities by opening its fourth computer lab at Beahu MA Basic School in the Ahanta West Municipality of the Western Region.

This project showcases the company’s dedication to the community and its belief in the power of education.

The new computer lab will serve several schools around Beahu MA Basic School, benefiting about 2,000 students.

The lab is equipped with internet access, air conditioning, comfortable desks, a projector, projector screen, and security cameras, providing an ideal environment for students to excel and explore the digital world.

Edward Mensah, Yinson Ghana’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Coordinator, spoke to the students, emphasizing that the lab is a place for them to dream big, learn new skills, and prepare for the future.

He encouraged the students to make the most of this opportunity, reminding them that with determination and hard work, they can achieve anything they set their minds to do.

“Yinson Production envisions a future where these students become leaders, innovators, and change-makers, positively impacting society and the world” he added.

Naa Opoku Agyeman, Yinson Ghana’s Managing Director, told the students that the lab is a place where they can explore the exciting world of computers, and who knows, one of them might grow up to be a tech genius.

George Effah, Acting Director of Education for the Western Region emphasized the importance of allowing students to use and manipulate the computers to master them and reflect their skills in their performance.

Nana Ekua Sekyiwa Darko, Manager, Community Relations at the Petroleum Commission, added, “This facility will benefit pupils in digital literacy facilitating access to information and communication as well as enhancing the teaching and learning process. Ultimately, it prepares young individuals for the digital age and complements the government’s efforts”.
