Armada cartoon

The Unicron of Light was formed to combat Unicron, when the latter was about to deliver the final blow to the already severely damaged Cybertron. Union The Unicron of Light blocked Unicron from attacking the planet, holding the immense Transformer in place while the Autobot and Decepticon forces attacked. As the Street Action Team confronted Sideways, Mini-Cons began separating from the faux Unicron, drawn to the real thing. Unicron responded by taking the Mini-Cons back under his control, and the Unicron of Light dissolved back into its component Mini-Cons. Origin

Legends comic

When Unicron Neo attacked the Z Planet, Megatron's collection of Mini-Cons from the Legends World came to assist. The "Hikari no Unicron" (光のユニクロン, "Unicron of Light") toy is a redeco of the Armada Unicron toy in an emerald, light green, blue, and white color scheme, and transforms into a planet. It features many Mini-Con Powerlinx plugs on the planet's rings, and "chomping" jaws activated by moving the mandibles. Powerlinx plugs on his sides activate the triple spring-loaded missile launchers, which end up on his robot mode legs. In robot mode, he has hidden compartments for Mini-Cons in his robot-mode legs and abdomen. One Powerlinx plug on the back of the robot mode activates blinking eye lights and a cannon that bursts from the chest and shoots a missile. A button on the top of the head also activates the blinking eye lights. Pushing his right hand back slightly into the cuff causes it to light up.
The Unicron of Light came packed with the Mini-Con Bug, who is nigh-identical to the Bug packed with the normal Unicron (it uses a slightly lighter gray plastic). Bug plugs into a specially-shaped socket on the Unicron of Light's planet form, just above his gaping maw.
This toy was the prize for a lucky-draw contest in Japan as Legends of the Microns Year Book's mail-exclusive, and only 10 were ever produced.

Though an homage to the Lucky Draw release, Encore "Unicron (Micron Shūgō-tai Color)" (ユニクロン (マイクロン集合体カラー), "Unicron (Micron Aggregate Color)") is an entirely new deco featuring parts cast in clear green plastic more evocative of the onscreen doppelgänger as well as metallic teal paint applications. It still includes all of its original accessories and a redecoed Bug. Unlike other Encore releases whose packaging closely resembles the original's, Encore Unicron's box, while identical in size to the original Unicron, features different visuals with a space background and stock photography of the toy rather than a recolored version of Unicron's artwork, ultimately appearing more like the 2010 version's packaging.
This version of the Armada Unicron mold features the mold degradation of the 2016 Platinum Edition release of Unicron.
