Cienie is a mystery-thriller visual novel with supernatural elements set in the Polish town of Sypniewo. You follow Tomasz Tyszko, a law university dropout who now interns at a private investigation agency run by Markus Waldner. After five individuals are reported missing in the town, Tom tries to unravel the mystery behind the disappearances while navigating the complexities of relationships and adulthood.
The story is mostly linear with no strictly-defined routes, though your choices throughout the game can affect Tom's relationship with various characters and lead to varied outcomes.
This is an LGBT+, furry visual novel with mature and adult themes such as violence and mental issues. This game is not suitable for minors.

THis is amzing. I am only at the start but the story got me hooked fast even before things go south. Also dang I love David. I definetly hope that there will be Echo Level Psycho Horror shit at some point. If you need any help with programming things reach out to me I definetly want that this awesome storry succeeds.

Is there a way to turn off the sprite animations? Or plans to add an option in settings in the future? Just makes it a bit hard to read.
Can't download android version of this game for some reason (through browser). Tried 3 times, all forbidden. Tried other itch vns, they download just fine.
(bleh, apparently itch was just being moody)
We have no idea what the problem could be, After asking some friends to download android version and it works fine for them.

Wow. Loved this whole vn, exceptional horror, kept me on the edge of my seat. Very likeable cast, good mix between seriousness and humour (also my type of humour so it was very enjoyable). Looking forward to the next builds.
Was really engrossed to the story and was pretty upset when the "To Be Continued" screen popped up. Really great vn I love it a lot!!!

If by gay you mean strictly homosexual then not everyone. It will be eventually revealed in future builds.
Is this vn sfw as of this build? and if not is there a way to turn off nsfw content? I've downloaded the current build but haven't played it yet out of fear of sexual content i kinda want to stay away from that type of thing(nsfw) but I've heard that this game has a very compelling story and now that learned this I really want to try it out for myself
There is no NSFW sex scenes in this build, and all nsfw sex scenes in the future will be fade to black.

The art is stunning, story is interesting, I felt going mad from "to be continued" in the build 2. I'll definitely will keep this vn on my watch list.
A couple pieces of critique though: please, pretty pretty please add a gallery. The artwork is really awesome and it would be super cool being able to see it at will. Another point is the characters, and this is far less objective. Most of them are so mysterious that it makes too hard to understand them and their actions and I end up more confused than intrigued.
At any rate that's just build 2, hope I'll have some answers and (much more) questions in upcoming builds! Keep up the good work :3

I said it once and I'll say it again, this VN is simply great, the story, the characters, the artwork, can't wait for chapter 3.
LOVED trying this game out! Everything was ten out of ten for me! The visuals, the writing, the characters, the story, everything has me very excited for what is in store! Super exciting to see the mystery unfold, and very charmed by the lovely characters!
In terms of what to add, I think a CG Gallery could be nice to have! I've seen other VNs incorporate similar features so hopefully Cienie could have them in the future. Really excited to see what you guys have in store, I'll be keeping an eye on this!
(Edit: Didn't know the words that were in purple could be clicked on and shown the definitions! I'll keep that in mind for the future, maybe it could be noted somewhere for folks who didn't know?)
Just some feedback on a minor UI issue.
So, I was trying to transfer my saves from computer to my phone and ended up only finding the "download sync" button. Then I look into the screen.rpy file and find out that the "upload sync" button only appears in a save screen, which seems kinda unnecessary to me. Like, you could totally just enter the load screen from the main title just to upload your saves. Maybe always showing both buttons could be better?
Though it seems renpy's sync isn't currently functioning anyway(some error occured in the 00sync.rpy file from the renpy folder). Actually I've never used(or even seen) this "sync" function of renpy from my experience of any other FVNs, so maybe this is kinda the reason?
Well, the Download/Upload sync uses Renpy Sync so you can upload and download save files to/from Renpy server, which allows you to transfer your save files to another device.
I tested it just now to transfer my save files from PC to my phone and it worked alright.
Of course, the upload and download sync buttons appear on the save and load screen respectively, because you need to load the save file first, before you can upload sync it. But thatโs also the default layout.

Iโm glad his slangs shine through and add to his charm. Honestly, while writing his dialogues, as a fellow SE Asian myself, Iโm deeply aware that his speech could sound incorrect to some if not sounding like a caricature/stereotype.
Still, I believe that by embracing his Manglish speech, Raymond can be unashamedly himself, like, if he already speaks like that, then let himlah! Can also, what?
And yes, Otto is a dumb-dumb but I admire his pure intention.

What were the inspirations for Cienie?
There is a few, The Mire (Polish Tittle Rojst.), Erle Stanley Gardner's books, Blacksad and Revival comics.
In smaller scale shows like Veronica Mars, or Twin Peaks.

Real great update. I'm so invested in the story, it's compelling, dark, and not so consuming that it gives me anxiety ๐ I love the mix of crime-drama & horror/thriller, it blends so nicely together with the overall vibe xou've set

This VN is definetely one of the most memorable that I've seen. The characters are really well written and I love the thing with personal background for each character in the dialog box.It's a little thing but I think it can say a lot of a character we are speaking with, as well as about Tom

You guys deserve my praise and way more, honestly. This vn is just great, it has sleuth + gay furries + good writing. This is one of the few furry vns that actually has a plot and it feels written for and by Young Adults and Adults. Keep up the good work!
