This is a Monja-yaki and Okonomiyaki restaurant in Keio-Shiraishi! It's located along Okuto Kaido, next to the tennis courts at Shibue Park. I went there on Sundays because it's open during the day. Although it's open during the day, it's not lunch time, but it opens earlier than usual from 3pm. When you enter, it's a tatami room, and first you take off your shoes and go in. The owner brings the menu, but there are an awful lot of them lol. It's too much trouble to look at them all, so I choose Monjiyaten, which is named after Okonomiyaki It was hot today, so I ordered a bottle of ramune as well. There is a call buzzer on the wall, so press it to call and order. After waiting for a while, Okonomiyaki base and ingredients are served separately, and it arrives! Now, what about the taste? The base ingredients were cabbage, fried tempura bits, sakura shrimp, pickled ginger, and egg, while the ingredients for Monjiya Ten were cheese, mochi, sausages, and onions. I was given instructions on how to make it, so I used them as a reference and made it by imitating others. The onions and sausages are fried on a hot plate before being sandwiched between the pieces, so you can cook them to your liking, and the cheese melts on its own with the heat, but the mochi is sandwiched between the pieces and then steamed rather than cooked, so I'm not sure what the correct way to make it is. I tried doing as instructed, but the texture of the mochi was still a bit off. I thought it might be a good Okonomiyaki to grill the mochi a little first. It's a bit of a pain to make, but the crunchiness of the onions, the meatiness of the sausages, the stickiness of the mochi and cheese, and the overall cohesion were great. Personally, I think it would have been better if the sausages had been chorizo, as it would have had a spicy kick. The portions are a little on the smaller side, but they were reasonably priced and delicious. PayPay can be used.
