Add a public transport card to Apple Wallet for China mainland on your iPhone or Apple Watch
Add a public transport card to the Wallet app on your iPhone or Apple Watch to use public transport in China mainland.
Here's what you need to ride transit in China mainland using Apple Pay1:
An iPhone 6s or later with Face ID, Touch ID or a passcode. Or an Apple Watch Series 3 or later paired with your iPhone 6s or later.
An Apple ID signed into iCloud.2
A China UnionPay credit or debit card that you've added to your Wallet app.
How to add a new public transport card in Apple Wallet
You can add a new travel card in the Wallet app on your iPhone or Apple Watch. The first transit card that you add is automatically set to Express Mode.3
How to add a new public transport card for China mainland on your iPhone
In the Wallet app, tap the
.Tap Travel Card.
Choose the public transport card that you want to add, or search by location or card name.
Tap Continue. You may be required to create or update a 6-digit passcode.
Choose an amount to put on your public transport card. If you're adding a China T-Union or Shanghai public transport card, you may be charged an additional 20 RMB refundable deposit.
Follow the steps on the screen to add a new public transport card.
How to add a new public transport card for China mainland on your Apple Watch
On your Apple Watch, open the Wallet app.
Scroll down and tap Add Card.
Tap Travel Card.
Choose the public transport card that you want to add.
Tap Continue. You may be required to create or update a 6-digit passcode.
Choose an amount to put on your public transport card. If you're adding a China T-Union or Shanghai public transport card, you'll be charged an additional 20 RMB refundable deposit.
Follow the steps on the screen to confirm your purchase and add a new public transport card.
How to transfer your public transport card between devices
You can only have a public transport card in the Wallet app on one device at a time, but you can move your card between devices.
On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app.
In the My Watch tab, tap Wallet & Apple Pay.
Tap the Add button next to the card that you want to move.
You can also select Add Card to view a list of previous cards from your other devices.
You can use the Apple Watch app to move your public transport card back to your iPhone when you're not using public transport.
How to transfer your travel card to a new device using Setup Assistant
In Setup Assistant on your new iPhone, tap Wallet.
Select the travel cards you want to transfer from your previous device.
Tap Continue to confirm you want to transfer your travel card to your new device.4
Your previous device must be nearby and connected to the internet in order to complete the transfer to your new device.
How to transfer your travel card using the Wallet app
On your new iPhone, open the Wallet app and tap the
.Tap Previous Cards and choose your transit card.
Follow the steps on the screen to add your travel card to the new iPhone.4

How to remove your travel card
On your iPhone, open the Wallet app.
Tap your public transport card.
Tap the
, then tap Card Details.Scroll down and tap Remove this Card. Tap Remove to confirm.
Apple Pay isn't available for children under 13. Age varies by country or region.
If you sign out of iCloud or turn off Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode on your iPhone or Apple Watch, all credit, debit and travel cards will be removed from that device. When you remove a travel card from any device, the remaining balance will be stored and available to be transferred to the same or another iPhone or Apple Watch that is connected to a network and signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID.
Check with your card issuer for information about travel cards you can add to Apple Pay.
Once transfer is complete, the previous card will remain visible in the Wallet app with an indication that the card can't be used.
