Hohoho-! Happy holidays everyone!

I haven't written anything here in a while, since I shifted my focus to Discord updates and Steam, but I figured it would be nice to write something here as well, now that the game has been fully released.

I started working on Anode Heart in January of 2021, almost 3 years ago. This is my first commercial game, so I learned a lot of things in the process. Looking at the whole game now, there are things I would've done differently, especially in the early areas of the game, but I'll absorb this knowledge and use it to make future Anode Heart games better.

So far the reception has been very positive and I was very delighted to see so many fans of the old Digimon games enjoying this. I'm also super happy to see all the achievements that players have done in the game, including breaking all sorts of mechanics and (4th) walls :D Glitches are ingrained in this game's environment and theme, so I left some of the found glitch skips in. This sort of stuff is very fun to see.

The demo on itch.io is also updated to the latest version as of writing this (v1.0.6.1). Let me know if there's interest here to see the full version of the game on itch.io as well.

As for future plans for Anode Heart, my short-term focus right now is translating the game to other languages. Particularly Spanish and Portuguese since I have volunteers helping with those. I want to translate to Chinese and Japanese as well, but I'll have to explore translation services and options for those.

In parallel with translations, I am working on the Mythicals Expansion, which will bring a batch of new Tama to raise and the new Mythical Tama and their related quests. I'm hoping to have this update finished around February 2024. I will also try to port the game to Switch, but I won't promise anything yet on that front. And after that, I'm planning to take a break and then continue writing out the plan for a new Anode Heart game.
