BBC secures FA Cup rights in partnership with TNT Sports

The deal commences with the 2025-26 season and marks a four-year commitment between BBC Sport and TNT Sports.

The British public service broadcaster, BBC Sport has signed a new agreement with TNT Sports, a pay television sports channel, to broadcast matches of the prestigious FA Cup.

The deal commences with the 2025-26 season and marks a four-year commitment between the broadcasters.

Under the new deal, BBC Sport will screen 14 games per season, encompassing the prestigious FA Cup final held at the Wembley Stadium. Fans can also expect highlights and digital clips across all BBC platforms, keeping them up-to-date with the tournament’s progress.

The breakdown of live matches includes two fixtures from each round leading up to the quarter-finals, followed by coverage of one semi-final.  

This agreement extends BBC Sport’s existing 10-year tenure as a free-to-air broadcaster for the FA Cup, albeit with a slight adjustment to the number of matches shown compared to the current season.

Philip Bernie, Interim Director of BBC Sport, said, “This partnership for the next four years is brilliant news and, alongside our recent Premier League extension and UEFA Champions League highlights coming this year, means that BBC Sport will deliver fans top-class analysis, commentary and coverage of the biggest football competitions free to air and accessible for all.”

TNT Sports is a major player in the world of sports broadcasting, with two distinct branches. In the United States, it’s a division of Warner Bros. Discovery offering coverage of major leagues like the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Major League Baseball (MLB). Across the pond in the UK and Ireland, TNT Sports is a group of pay television channels that recently rebranded from BT Sport. The channel broadcasts a wide range of sports including the Premier League (PL), UEFA Champions League (UCL), and more.

BBC Sport is the sports division of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), which provides comprehensive coverage of sporting events across various platforms including television, radio, and online. It is known for its extensive coverage of events such as the OlympicsEuropean footballWimbledon, the Australian Opencricket in England and Wales, and the Premier League.

The 2024 FA Cup is set for a second consecutive Manchester Derby as the defending champions Manchester City FC (MCFC) will take on their arch-rivals Manchester United FC (MUFC) on May 25 at 7:30 PM IST
