Note: Now generally accepted as monotypic with Krugiodendron acuminatum J.A.González & Poveda, Lankesteriana 8: 16 (-18; fig. 1) (2003) reduced to synonymy under Krugiodendron ferreum (Govaerts et al., 2021 & Tropicos, 2021).
