You can download it at http://devpaks.org/show.php?devpak=120 It'll probably work only with GCC 3.4. Daniel K. O. |

Hi, Probably MinGW mailing list would be better place to post this question, but I think Dev-C++ users have this problem too. Recently I wanted to use Dev-C++ (and MinGW) to write & compile game uses DirectX 9. When I wanted to use d3dx9.lib I had problem with convert it to format which is undestood by MinGW (http://www.mingw.org/mingwfaq.shtml#faq-msvcdll). From Google I know that many people had problem with this. Currently I use d3dx9d.lib, but this require to attach d3dx9d.dll to my program. Is this problem still unsolved? Regards Marcin |

Hi: I am trying to get this library to compile under windows, but it gives many errors. Even tried unde MSYS and still no go. If somebody would be kind enough to let me have a compiled version for Windows ME, I would appreciate it, or provide a URL to get instructions on how to do it. Thank you. -- Alfredo J. I am having trouble with my try,throw and catch statments. I tried to do this... try { //try to do whatever throw "Did not work" } catch(char* error) { cout << error; } This did not work. The program quits with the error message abnormal program termination. But if I change " char* error " to " ... " then the catch statment will work. Why didn't it work before? _________________________________________________________________ Powerful Parental Controls Let your child discover the best the Internet has to offer. http://join.msn.com/?pgmarket=en-ca&page=byoa/prem&xAPID=1994&DI=1034&SU=http://hotmail.com/enca&HL=Market_MSNIS_Taglines Start enjoying all the benefits of MSN® Premium right now and get the first two months FREE*. |

The makefiles usually require UNIX utilities to be installed. Install msys and start a bash shell from it, then try to build the example programs from the bash shell and it will probably work fine. If you want to change the way the members are constructed (like passing arguments for the constructors) you should use: Test2::Test2() : t(arg1, arg2, ...) { } Recomendation: read The C++ Programming Language, you'll have a much happier experience with C++. On one of my projects it has come up that I have no need for the globbing function provided by mingw. I know one method of disabling globbing is to include the object file "CRT_noglob.o", however you need to include it as your first item in the linked files list in your makefile. Is there a method of telling Dev-CPP to set the makefile up as such? Thanks Geoff Baker Engineering Technologist VCom Inc. 150 Cardinal Place Saskatoon Sask. I performed a test with classes and while I was debugging I didn't understand a result... class Test { public: Test() { } Test(...) { } }; class Test2 { public: Test2() { t = ... } Test t; }; When I created an object of type Test2 it jumped to the constrctor like it should have but than it called the constructor twice. Once with the default constructor before entering the body and again when doing the line t=.... Why did it do that? I didn't create another object of type Test. I wanted to give t a certain value when constructing Test2. What happened? _________________________________________________________________ Take advantage of powerful junk e-mail filters built on patented Microsoft® SmartScreen Technology. http://join.msn.com/?pgmarket=en-ca&page=byoa/prem&xAPID=1994&DI=1034&SU=http://hotmail.com/enca&HL=Market_MSNIS_Taglines Start enjoying all the benefits of MSN® Premium right now and get the first two months FREE*. |

I still would stick to the fact that I am able to use fftw comfortably with Windows binaries compiled with gcc under MinGW which I downloaded from : ftp://ftp.fftw.org/pub/fftw/fftw3win32mingw.zip I just link to the fftw3.lib file! There has been a debate on wether a *.lib file can be linked. But around 2 weeks back there was response, I do not remember from whom, which said the *.lib files created using the C language can be linked even under the gcc system. I guess this is how I am able to get my work done! Siva Chandra. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! This is the same as writing: firstnamelength = firstnamelength + 10; You can do the same thing with -, *, and /. Do you understand ++ and -- and the ?: syntax? Watson (the pencil neck) Davis |

See one more example below: "firstnamelength /= 10;" ==> "firstnamelength = firstnamelength / 10;" Rafael |

I came across some code references online, and trying to figure out what = does=20 ' +=3D ' stand for. e.g. firstnamelength +=3D 10; =3F=3F=3F=3F -----Original Message----- =46rom: dev...@li... Hello,=20 As we can see the compiler complains about the class definition in the *.cpp file. > \myFolder\myClass.cpp In constructor > `myClass<Type>::myClass(const Type&)': >=20 > 7 \myFolder\myClass.cpp syntax error before `;' > token=20 > \myFolder\Makefile.win [Build Error] [myClass.o] > Error 1=20 And, the complaint is about the way you have created a new myClass object. Firtsly, you have declared a protected member object of type Type in the class declaration and not a pointer to an object of type Type. So I guess the declaration code should be changed to: Type* count; // Declare count as a pointer. Next, even after making such a correction, the way you should go about initialising this object is: count =3D new Type(item); and not as: count =3D new Type item; Even here, the class of type Type should have a logically correct copy constructor. > Lastly, here is my myClass.cpp code: > _____________________ > #include <iostream> > #include "myClass.h" > =20 > template<class Type> > myClass<Type>::myClass(const Type &item) //default > constructor > { > count =3D new Type item; > } Hope this helps, Siva Chandra =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D The contents of this message, together with any attachments, are intended = only for the use of the person(s) to which they are addressed and may = contain confidential and/or privileged information.
