can anyone help me? I get 31 compilation errors when I include ddraw.h in my projects I just want to use directX to create a direct link with video memory, and then use assembly language to move graphics buffer to video memory. also when I try to use the inline assembler I get errors too. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Get more from the Web. You lost me SpiderMan. As far as I can see that is the same as what I have. How can I lose a \ ? And why does the message show Dev-C++ as Dev-C_~1 when it refers to the path? The tilda I understand, the "1" maybe also, but why and where did the underline come from? |

The Clear Screen command, clrscr() is a DOS command, and will only work in DOS environment IDE's which DEV C++ is windows based IDE..... Or so I have been told. You can get around this by just adding line returns until the screen is 'blank' so one book suggested going about it. John Garrison |

Unfortunately, DevC++ does not have a equivalent of "graphics.h" file. To learn functions, you should buy a book on C++. Do have a file that can tell me which functions lie in which include files? Do different functions lie in different include files for different compilers? Or is there a standard to keep it fixed? I don't have a "graphics.h" file. Which file is its equivalent? I'm using Dev C++ (the one before the latest). Just learning C++, basically because of the Internet connection between programming and web design. I'm also familiar with "javascript". However, I need to know what kind of interface is necessary for a C++ program to exchange information with a web page? Short answers are welcome, even a source of additional info will help. Jorge, I think your problem is you are using '%i' in scanf() to read an = integer - you should use '%d'. Also, when you display the value listin[i].num, you are using '%s' for a = string when you should be using '%d' again: Heres the amended code: #include <stdio.h> #include <conio.h> #define MaxEnt 5 struct agenda { char nombre[25]; char direcc[25]; int num; char tlf[9]; } listin[MaxEnt]; main() { int i, n=3D2; for(i=3D0;i<MaxEnt;i++) { printf("Introduzca Nombre:"); gets(listin[i].nombre); printf("Introduzca direccion:"); gets(listin[i].direcc); printf("Introduzca numero:"); scanf("%d",&listin[i].num); // use %d here fflush(stdin); // flush stdin as = scanf leaves a 'n' in the stream (i think)=20 // which will = cause problems with the next gets() call. printf("Introduzca telefono:"); gets(listin[i].tlf); } for(i=3D0;i<n;i++) printf("%s %s %d = %s",listin[i].nombre,listin[i].direcc,listin[i].num,listin[i].tlf); = // use %d here } I hope this helps Chris. ----- Original Message -----=20 From: Jorge Garcia-Donas K=FCbler=20 To: Dev...@li...=20 Sent: 25 November 2000 07:59 Subject: [Dev-C++] What's up with scanf and struct's I'm a newbie. Yo Peter, I began learning at www.cprogramming.com but then later on I purchased the book "The Beginners guide to C++" By Oleg Yareshenko. Other than a few outdated syntax problems (These can be overlooked easily considering the quality of instruction this book provides) it is an awesome book in my opinion! ----- Original Message ----- From: Peter Johnson <poi...@ho...> To: <dev...@li...> Sent: Friday, November 24, 2000 3:48 PM Subject: Re: [Dev-C++] Help - Newbee > Thanks for that.. i'll check it out soon oh and Matthew how did you learn > it?? Oh, well sorry, I sort of misunderstood. In general I just don't think you need any real C experience to learn C++. C++ is C only with OOP and other advanced features. ----- Original Message ----- From: <bis...@bt...> To: <dev...@li...> Sent: Friday, November 24, 2000 1:20 AM Subject: RE: [Dev-C++] Help - Newbee > Well, my point was that you need to know a bit of 'C' before using that > particular tutorial :-) In general, though, I agree that given a decent > book, you shouldn't have to learn C to try out C++. > > - Biswa. > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Matthew FitzGerald [mailto:fit...@ho...] > > Sent: 23 November 2000 20:08 > > To: dev-cpp-users > > Subject: Re: [Dev-C++] Help - Newbee > > > > > > No you don't need C experience that is a bunch of hooey!! You have to fill '-lwinmm' to the 'further object files or linker > options', and nothing to the compiler options. I tried this already: 'absPath\libwinmm.a -lwinmm' (seperated by a single space) with a 'include <mmsystems.h>' but it didnt work. I can't give you the exact errormessage, cause I am answering from a Internetcaffe I' ll be back to my pc on thuseday if you don't mind I'll write a mail to you then? Where do I get those informations (about libraries) does exist a manual or something for Dev-C++? George |
