It's not a Dev-C++, but a MinGW compiler option.
Specify -E option in your compiler options.

Nothing wrong with the source, except that you have used some very starnge
characters for indentation. White space may only be space, tab, horizontal
tap, carriage return and line feed.

If you open the source in the really stupid program edit, the strange
characters will be clearly visible.

I am a self taught programmer who has been uing C for a few years for little home applications.  I am learning C++ and was wondering how to add other compilers and text editors to the DevC++ IDE.

That is one of the reasons why you may download the Dev-C++ environment
without the compiler - you might already have a different version of
MinGW.

The only disadvantage of using a different version of gcc, is that you
can't use any precompiled c++ libraries. The compiler regularly changes
name mangling, and internal memory layout of generated c++ code. Since I
normally retrieve source and build the needed C++ libraries myself, this
isn't too much of a problem.

C++ compilers don't support word documents.

Also, not too many people like to open word documents from unknown sources
because of the problems with word macro viruses.

Further - that was only a small part of an application. It emits some text
but there are no game logic, and no repeat loop to allow the user to play
again. That code is expected to just print some text and then end.

Try posting the error messages - to my knowledge there are no global list
of error messages, but most of them are quite obvious when read.

I need help.  I am a beginner to C++ but I have had experience with unix many years ago.  I am now a teacher and my students want to learn to prgram games.  I am using dev c++ a bata version and we have programed a program called the expensive calculator.  It is a beginner program, it came with a book called beginning C++ game programming.  When we program the source codes we get the output screen but it doesn't calculate anything.  Can you help me?

When asking for help - always attach the code you have problems with.
Right now, we don't even know if you program in C or in C++, and if you
with "floating" means the data type "float" or just floating point
numbers.

The arrays are too large to allocate as auto, i.e. on the stack.

I'm sorry, but I don't know how to create nearly 5 arrays. The code below
will manage to create exactly 5 arrays:

Hello All,

Please help me with a trivial problemos.

I want to create nearly 5 floating array of 60,000 each . When I run the 
program it gives error which I always do "Dont Send" to Microsoft. Please 
help me allocating these arrays without crashing the system as such even

Nothing wrong with the line:

You just forgot the line:
