Hello, depends on what you use and what you need, you can use SDL to draw your graph, if you use just want a plain old win32 application i'm sure Microsoft has something for you or if you use wxWidgets or something look in their documentation. Maybe you can provide us with more information. Yeah, but I think it's to complicated. I'll just write a simple parser to execute some predefiend checks and commands. But thanks for your help. They can never get tocal control of everything unless they write a dll file, that you load. This also requires that you export all symbols. For a plugin (any language) to be able to access a function in a program, that program must be exported unless we are talking about programs that fakes menu choices or button presses. The reason I mentioned Java is that it is quite easy to have the user enter source code, and then exec the compiler to generate a runnable module. But if you check at open-source script languages. Several existing have support where you export a number of functions that the script language may access. /Per W On Wed, 6 Dec 2006, Maarten de Vries wrote: > Well, that would be nice if I wanted them to make plugins. Well, that would be nice if I wanted them to make plugins. But I just have a field where they should enter the script which then will be executed. More specifically, I'm making a virtual piano. I want the user to be able to decide what happens when they press a certain key combination. So, it would be easy if it could simply be written in C++ so they have total control over everything. When I was still working with REALBasic (a VB like language), I could simply add an object to a window and it could executes whatever you gave it. Is there something like this, or do I have to write a simple parser to do it? Maarten On 12/6/06, Per Westermark <pw...@ia...> wrote: > > C++ scripts? C++ scripts? There are some implementations for interpreted C++ around, but are you actually interested in C++ scripts? Add an interface where your application exports a number of functions for use by java. It shouldn't be too hard then for an end user to write small java applets to be executed. There are also a large number of open-source scripting languages that you might select. /Per W On Wed, 6 Dec 2006, Maarten de Vries wrote: > Hi, > > I want my users to be able to write custom script at runtime which will then > be executed when a shortcut is pressed. Hi, I want my users to be able to write custom script at runtime which will then be executed when a shortcut is pressed. Ofcourse, I could write a simple parser with limited abilities to provide all the functionality they need, but that would be a lot of work. It also requires if statements. Is there a way to execute custom C++ scripts at runtime? Thanks, Maarten |

Most operating systems are written in C or C++, so if something is possible to do in any language, it is most probably also possible using C or C++. The API you are interested in is called ClearEventLog(). Google should be able to supply the required information about how to use it. There is also the function BackupEventLog(). /Per W On Wed, 6 Dec 2006, KrowniX ()--() wrote: > Well, I have to remove becouse in the company that I work that=B4s the st= andart action to this situation, and don=B4t matter how much I talk with th= em they won=B4t change ...so I have to remove the old records in the event = viewer > > I also think like you..and I don=B4t see any reason of why we should eras= e the records in the event viewer once all that is really important it=B4s = save in a backup directoy. > > But...I was looking here..and unfortunely I think that it isn=B4t possibl= e to do this using c/c++...but I will try to do it using vbscript, but beei= ng honest with you I don=B4t think that will work....:( > > > ----- Mensagem original ---- > De: Per Westermark <pw...@ia...> > Para: KrowniX ()--() <kr...@ya...> > Cc: dev...@li... > Enviadas: Quarta-feira, 6 de Dezembro de 2006 10:06:20 > Assunto: Re: [Dev-C++] Clear/Delete a file that it is been used by servic= es.exe > > > Most importantly - why do you want to do it? > > Are they containing sensitive information that you want to remove, or is > it just that you want to keep older logs available? > > Most solutions for logging is to browse the event logs and extract all ne= w > entries to secondary files. Most importantly - why do you want to do it? Are they containing sensitive information that you want to remove, or is it just that you want to keep older logs available? Most solutions for logging is to browse the event logs and extract all new entries to secondary files. By keeping track of last entry copied, there is then no need to remove old entries. /Per W On Wed, 6 Dec 2006, KrowniX ()--() wrote: > Hi, > > Friends..I got a problem here... > I have to do a robot that do the backup of the .evt files (c:\winnt\syste= m32\config\*.evt) and after the backup is finished I need to delete those f= iles. > > Well...the first thing is easy...just copy the files...and compress then,= , but, how do I delete a .evt file if it=B4s been used by the Event Viewer = and the Event Viewer it is been executed on services.exe and Windows NT doe= sn=B4t allow me to make operations with it. > > Anyone knows ...some API...or have some idea about how do I solve this pr= oblem?? > > Krownix > > > > _______________________________________________________ > Novidade no Yahoo! Did you install the full Dev-C++, or did you just install the IDE? If you just installed the IDE, you also have to install the MinGW compiler suite. /Per W On Sun, 3 Dec 2006, Don Copeman wrote: > When I run Dev-C++ I get the message " There doesn't seem to be GNU Make file in path or in Dev-C++'s Bin path. Hi all, I tried Dev-cpp 4.9.9.2 with Symbian 9 (UIQ3 SDK) and with the aid of a dummy makefile which wraps the symbian build system it works even with the code warrior compiler which is used for emulator builds. Also method completion and so on works pretty good. Now I have some questions to makes it easier using it in daily-life: - I would like to add chm-files in a way, that they will be searched for the word under the cursor if I press F1. I have already seen that this should work. I tried to add the UIQ3 SDK documentation in (sorry, I use the german version, may be strings will be others in english) "Help"->"Help menu editor" and activated here the option "Search in help file for word under cursor position" and "F1-shortcut". If I press now F1, the documentation will be also displayed but not searched for the word. What's wrong? - Is it possible to get coloured output on the compiler tab or exists there any other possibility that makes it easier to visual distinguish between warnings and errors. - Can I create different menu items for each makefile target? For example, I would like to create a target emulator ("make emulator") for emulator builds and another target device ("make device") for device builds. - Furthermore I have problems with the class browser and the go to implementation feature. Dev-C++ will always only jump to the declaration but never to the implementation. I tried it with the a hello world application, so it is really very basic code. Dear all: I'm new to c++ and Dev-cpp, although I have some basics on C and Pascal = from college classes (which I don't remember) and I currently do web = programming (PHP/MySql). I'm trying to build a small app in c++ to "backup" files and folders. = All it does is to copy the original file(s) or folder(s) to the same location = and changing the copied filename to "original_name bk todays_datetime.original_extension". For example, if I right-click the file index.php in explorer and select "Backup This File" it creates a copy of the file named index_bk_20061122172201.php in the same folder. I have already accomplished similar with a batch file and a vbs file, = but it opens a cmd window, vbs files don't get along well with anti-virus apps, = and I don't know how to add the context option to all files and folders = (except manually). This is probably simple to do in c++. My problem is: Where do I start ? = :) Tips, links, books, googles, would be much appreciated, or if you know = an app that does the job please let me know. TIA. Actually, I don't know how to program in wxDevCPP or wxDev-C++. That's why I'm asking a solution in Win32. On 11/14/06, Sof.T <so...@ti...> wrote: > > Try using wxDev-C++ it is an advanced version of DevCpp which includes a > RAD designer for wxWidgets. > > Sof.T |

Thank you for you answer Per. As you guessed C# uses IE as an ActiveX control in order to create WebBrowser control. Using wxWidgets is indeed a good alternative, but I want to write it using DevCPP in Win32. On 11/14/06, Per Westermark <pw...@ia...> wrote: > > Go with the HTML view in wxWidgets. Go with the HTML view in wxWidgets. Then you can create an application that can be built and run on Win32, Mac OS X, Linux, OS/2, ... I haven't looked at the WebBrowser control in C#, but it is possible to use IE as an ActiveX control in Windows programs. However, if you want to use ActiveX controls, it is easier to use M$ tools. /Per W On Tue, 14 Nov 2006, Ahmed Han wrote: > Hello, > I think you know the WebBrowser control that C# has. Hello, I think you know the WebBrowser control that C# has. I want to create a WebBrowser control in my Win32 project using DevCPP. But i don't know where to start. Is CreateWindow() function adequate for creating it? If so, what window class should i use? |
