Hi, I am trying to construct a simple example for querying the prolog engine from C++. The following is the simple prolog code (test.pl) to which I am trying to connect % Prolog file test.pl for testing Connectivity from C % % Receives a string and outputs the same % receive(S):- write('I received '),write(S),nl. relation(abe, john). And, following is the C++ code: void loadit(){ PlFrame fr; PlTermv av(1); av[0] = "test.pl"; PlQuery q("consult", av); q.next_solution(); } void start(){ PlTermv av(1); av[0] = "message"; PlQuery q("receive",av); q.next_solution(); } int main( int argc, char *argv[] ) { char *program = argv[0]; char *plav[2]; plav[0] = program; plav[1] = NULL; if ( !PL_initialise(1, plav) ) PL_halt(1); loadit(); start(); return 0; } The above program works fine and I am able to get the output: "I received message" in the console. Now, my concern is to pass two arguments to the fact "relation", one of them is "abe" and other I want it to be a variable , so that I get the result "john" assigned to it. How do I construct such a query and how do I access the result and use it as a C data for other purposes? Could someone please answer? Thanks, Narayan. _____________________________________________________________ Get 25MB, POP3, Spam Filtering with LYCOS MAIL PLUS for $19.95/year. http://login.mail.lycos.com/brandPage.shtml?pageId=plus&ref=lmtplus |

Yes, it is possible to use Borland and Dev-Cpp (4.9.6.0) for console applications, I do not know if it is possible to do the same for Windows applications. Anyway, my approach could be a starting point. If interested see "www.gisan.freeurl.com" and follow the link "dev_bor" -- >> gisan >> |

You can't force printf() to print a different type value with a = different type specifier. Printf() is a variadic function (you know those with the = ... arguments) and uses internally the pointer type you specify ("%lu" in = your case). Either you will use a supported system extension specifier for = your type that your printf() implementation supports or you will cast to = unsigned long. It would be nice and comfortable if the floating window for the project manager and class browser could be minimized. Yeah, hiding/showing with view menu is nice, but that could be even nicer. Or that when showing it after having hide it, it would remember its previous state, so if it was floating it return as floating, and even better if it remembered the place where it was. (I don't know why, but while coding I get bad mood with horizontal scrolling). In shortcuts configuring dialog it is possible to assign the same shortcut for various actions. It would be nice have the chance to list the active shortcuts sorted by "control" keys and then alphabetically. I assigned Alt + F9 to check syntax and it did nothing. Something special about this key combination? Yeah, little Rockstock XXIII, we know your opinion, but perhaps if you use your style we won't reply your questions when they arrive here. :-P |

Hi, Is IDC_EDIT1 defined in the header (resource.h)? Also, I think (pretty sure actually) winuser.h is included in windows.h, so you don't need to include it again. Finally, try using "&New\tCtrl+N" to space the menu item accelerators nicely. _____________________________ Marc Heiligers -----Original Message----- From: Vlada Djurovic [mailto:dj...@im...] Sent: 17 December 2002 12:56 PM To: 'DevC++ help' Subject: [Dev-C++] resource error Hi. That sets the command line option -ansi, which is not the same than -std=c99. -ansi stands for -std=c89. The C++ style comments are accepted from 1999 ANSI C standard, so any option telling the compiler to be within any previous ANSI standard previous to c99 (which is the last one) won't accept c++ style comments in a c source. The default is std=gnu89, which is the 99 standard plus gnu extensions. 99 standard is not fully supported right now, when it be, it will be the default. In gcc-3.2.chm file: "C++ Style Comments In GNU C, you may use C++ style comments, which start with // and continue until the end of the line. Many other C implementations allow such comments, and they are likely to be in a future C standard. However, C++ style comments are not recognized if you specify -ansi, a -std option specifying a version of ISO C before C99, or -traditional, since they are incompatible with traditional constructs like dividend//*comment*/divisor. You used C++ style comments? mingw generates millions errors if you use them in a C progam; you can maintain them if you add the -std=c99 option to the compiler (in mingw 2.0.0, based on gcc3.2,. If you use previous version, based on gcc 2.95.3-6 perhaps then you need change the comment style) Teresa Raymond wrote: > I opened a project that I had written with Visual C++ 6.0 which had no > compiler errors in VC6, but in DevC++ there were about 24 compiler > errors. Hello all Dev-cpp-users, I'm writing some apps under DevC++ (which, as everybody know is great IDE) and I've encountered small problem - can't force mingw to properlsy print laaaaaaaarge integers (signed or not)... already tried: printf( "%lu", ( DWORD64 )-1 ); but this gives me short number as output... and compiler gives me warning: warning: long unsigned int format, different type arg (arg 2) well, with <iostream> everything works fine, but I'd like to force printf to work - it must be possible somehow... but how? -- regards, Zodiaq |

You can't have the linker just link to a dll file. Either you must link to an import library (or possibly it's called an export library) that contains stub functions to all exported symbols in the dll file, or you must manually load the dll, and retrieve pointers to the exported functions and variables in the dll file. Also, depending on how the dll was compiled, it might use mangled symbol names of other type or with other calling convention than your main project is using. /Per W On Mon, 16 Dec 2002, Narayan Annamalai wrote: > Hi all, > > I am trying to execute a c++ code that sends queries to a prolog engine back and forth. I'm not sure how this applies to C++, but in C you include conio.h, then you go to your project options and add -lconio to your linker options. My guess is that the project uses a keyword not defined in mingw, like borland's "far" specifier.
