I am using 4.9.6.0 - when I make an alteration to a statement e.g. cout << "\n\nEnter "<< find <<"(e.g. ("<<items[4]<<"):"; to cout << "\n\nEnter any"<< find <<"(e.g. ("<<items[4]<<"):"; Then compile - the program does not change the screen display (and seems to compile faster than usual .) Thereafter if I change the COUT statement again the results are still not correct. |

Hi all I'm having a problem with winsock in Dev-Cpp. When compiling, it shows the following: Resource file D:\Dev-c++\Lib\wsock32.def does not exist. Check in Project Options. The only thing I've done is: WSADATA wsa; if (WSAStartup(MAKEWORD(1, 1), &wsa) != 0) MessageBox(NULL,"WSA Initialization failed.\0",NULL,MB_OK); I already have included winsock.h . What should I check in the options??? |

Use localy some buffer for temporary data, then read from first, and write to second... important is to to do it in binary mode - if you are using fopen functions do it like this: FILE input = fopen( "file", "br" ); or if you want to use system functions use CopyFile(Ex): CopyFile( "source", "destination", FALSE ); //FALSE means overwrite if exists... more info in online msdn: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/fileio/base/copyfile.asp jb> kind regards... -- regards, Zodiaq |

Hello Esteban and other users-list members, Yes, I did the same and added some extra cin and cout statements to follow the code. What I would like to do is converse with my program for a while until I reach the point just before it starts to do things I do not want to happen, and then set a breakpoint and trace the code step by step. I am trying to debug a console program that uses cin and cout statements. I am using Dev-Cpp 4.9.7.0 and windows 98. When I use the built-in debugger I get a console window, but no input or output on this window. I found back the output of the cout statements in the debugger output window of Dev-Cpp between the debugger output. I have no idea how I can give the input for the cin statements (the debugger seems to pass them without accepting input??) How can I send the output of the cout statements to the console window and accept input to the cin statements from the console windows? Wobien |

Hi All, Does anybody know how to handle an Accelerator Table in a Modal Dialog? There is no main message loop to place the TranslateAccelerator() call and I can't find any other way of doing this. Thanks. _____________________________ Marc Heiligers |

also sounds like you've not setup the INCLUDE sirectory - look under one of the options and make sure it has the directory with the include header files. >From: Brenden Towey <br...@rc...> >To: En...@ao... >CC: dev...@li... >Subject: Re: [Dev-C++] IS THIS C OR C++ >Date: Thu, 19 Dec 2002 23:07:43 -0800 > >En...@ao... wrote: > >>hello >>i use windows XP ; i >>did downloaded DEV-C++ 4.9.7.0 WITH GCC3.2. but >>i can not write any program with c++. acually >>it work on c. there is no header file iostream >>and there is no cout . it only accept printf >>scanf stdio and so on. i have A book about C++and all >>the example wont work. what should i do? >>best regards > >File -> New Project -> Console Application -> C++ Project -> Ok > > >> > > > >------------------------------------------------------- >This SF.NET email is sponsored by: Geek Gift Procrastinating? >Get the perfect geek gift now! Anti virus software tends to scan new files, so if you're compiling a file and thus creating a new one, it will be scanned as it is created. Compilers are sensitive, and this causes the slowdown. That's my idea anyway. >From: "Steve McKain" <sam...@so...> >To: <dev...@li...> >Subject: [Dev-C++] dev and Norton anti virus 2000 >Date: Thu, 19 Dec 2002 15:22:22 -0600 > >I've got a problem with Dev-cpp and Norton anti virus 2000.
