This template is intended to simplify entering the references to the basic laws (Constitutions and Charters) of the federal subjects of Russia and their top-level municipal divisions (urban okrugs and municipal districts), as well as lower-level municipal divisions (urban and rural settlements).

Syntax

Usage

Parameters

• FS, or the first unnamed parameter, is the ISO 3166-2:RU code (without the "RU" part) of the federal subject to which the item being referenced belongs. For example, Altai Krai is coded as "alt".
• uppermundiv, or the second unnamed parameter, is the name of the urban okrug or municipal district (without the "urban okrug" and "municipal district" designations), to which the information being cited pertains. There is no default value.
• lowermundiv, or the third unnamed parameter, is the name of the urban or rural settlement (without the "urban settlement" and "rural settlement" designations) within uppermundiv, to which the information being cited pertains. There is no default value.

No parameters

When called without parameters, the template returns the citation for the Constitution of Russia.

Note that any parameters without appropriate subpages in this template will produce a redlink, so, this

Important notes

The templates uses the parameters submitted to it to call an appropriate subtemplate (for example, {{RussiaBasicLawRef/alt}}). If the subtemplate does not exist, the call will fail, producing a red link that violates the guideline at WP:REDNOT. Make sure you create a proper subtemplate first if one does not yet exist.
