The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run is a 2020 American computer animated/live action comedy-adventure movie based on Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants. The movie was shown in theaters on August 14, 2020 in Canada and on Netflix in other countries due to pandemic.[5] It was released online and on CBS All Access in the United States in March 4, 2021.[6]

The film was positively welcomed from both audience, fans and film critics which praised its story, characters, animation, humor, heart, character development, Hans Zimmer's musical score and the songs with many calling it an improvement over its predecessor.

SpongeBob (Tom Kenny) and Patrick (Bill Fagerbakke) go on a mission to find Gary the Snail (Kenny again), who was "snailnapped" (kidnapped) by Poseidon.
